Woman Reportedly Stabs Fellow Woman To Death After Finding Her At Home With Her Spouse


A woman was stabbed to death on Wednesday morning after the lover of her male companion allegedly found the two at her home. The deceased has been identified as Dianne Brackenridge. Police have confirmed that the incident happened around midnight but the Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) was unable to provide details at this time. However, reports say that the woman, who is said to be in her early 40s, was with a male companion at his home in the community when they were surprised by the return of the man's spouse.

The President of Nigeria Union in South Africa, Ikechukwu Anyene, on Thursday, criticized the killing of a 30-year-old Nigerian in Hillbrow, Johannesburg. Mr Emeka Ezinteje, Public Relations Officer of the union, told NAN in Johannesburg that the union decried the incident after receiving the report. NAN recalls that the Nigerian, Nonso Odo, from Amangwu-Nkwerre, Imo State, on Thursday, was allegedly beaten to death by South African Police officers. Ezinteje said reports indicated that the deceased, who was a barber, quarreled with a fellow Nigerian in their business centre. “After the quarrel, the fellow Nigerian stopped a police patrol team. The barber ran when he saw the patrol team.”

PDP warns FG not to intimidate them with EFCC

9 year old girl narrowly escapes decapitation


Zainab Oluwole, a 9 year old girl, narrowly escaped death in the Oyo-Ode area of Ede in Osun State recently. Zainab’s mother, Adebukola Oluwole, a nurse at the State Hospital, Ede, was cooking dinner for her family to break their fast when she realised that she needed to buy some things and headed for the market.
Unknown to her, a burglar was lurking around the house and waiting for an opportunity to strike. The burglar invaded the house having seen that the man of the house, Mr. Raheem Kabir, had earlier left the house before the woman also left.

EFCC invites GEJ's adviser on amnesty, Kingsley Kuku over alleged embezzlement of Amnesty funds


The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC have invited the former special adviser on Niger Delta matters to ex President Jonathan, Kingsley Kuku, over allegations of embezzlement of hundreds of millions of Naira meant for amnesty programme.

Mr Kuku alongside two of his aides are expected to be at the headquarters of the anti-graft agency on July 28th.

Okada riders protest extortion by govt officials in Ondo state


Hundreds of commercial motorcyclists, popularly called okada, rode into the streets of Akure, the Ondo state capital, on Thursday to protest the alleged extortion by the officials of the Ondo State Ministry of Transport.
