Marco Asensio
22-year-old Real Madrid star, Marco Asensio, who has been sensationally linked with a huge £150million move to Liverpool, has refused to reject talk of a potential move to the Premier League side.
According to Daily Sun UK, the Spanish international, got Anfield supporters excited as he refused to dismiss the prospect of joining Jurgen Klopp’s men.
When the youngster was quizzed about the speculation linking him to The Reds, he said: “Liverpool? When the World Cup is over, we'll talk about that sort of thing, now I'm focused on selection.”
He added that he would discuss his Bernabeu future with his new Madrid boss, Julen Lopetegui, who was sacked as Spain manager on the eve of the tournament.
Asensio who appeared as a late substitute in two of Spain’s three Group B matches, said: “I'm glad Julen has signed up for Real Madrid, after the World Cup we'll talk things over with him.”
Asensio signed a 6-year deal at Real Madrid last September but struggled to command a regular spot in the starting XI under Zinedine Zidane.
He did manage to hit the net 11 times for the Champions League winners in his 53 appearances.
