A source said to Sun UK: “They’re (Chris & Emily) childhood sweethearts so the news of the email has come as a real shock. “I can’t believe it. Nobody would have thought it. Simon was always telling everyone at work how much of a family man he is and how he’s a doting dad.”

Emily, who uses her maiden name Mitchell at work, lives in a four-bedroom £800,000 terrace in St Albans, Herts, with husband of five years Chris, a media executive.

According to reports by the Sun UK, Simon has been kicked out of the house by his partner Nicola after hearing of the cheating reports.

Man Drowns While Taking Selife, Six Others Die One By One Trying To Save Him

Seven people drowned in India after an attempt to take a group selfie went wrong. According to police in Kanpur district, the group had gone to swim in the river Ganga when one person decided to take a selfie. While taking it, he lost balance and was swept away by the current.

The six friends accompanying him jumped in one after another to save him - but each of them drowned as they jumped into the river. A team of divers were deployed to save the youths - but their bodies were recovered after two hours. All of them were taken to a Hospital where they were declared dead by doctors.

The deceased have been identified as Sachin Gupta (21), Bholu Tiwari (20), Rohit (20), Shivam (19), Maqsood (31), Bhola (16) and Satyam (24).

A heartless man has brutally murdered his wife by using three different knives to cut her neck after she asked for divorce. It was gathered that the man had sent the estranged wife a text message asking her to come over so they could talk over the matter. The man, identified as Abdirashid Khadar, 22,  sent mother-of-one, Amal Abdi, 21, a text message saying: 'Honey come and see me at home' to persuade her to visit after she demanded for a divorce.

When she refused, he persisted and told her that some of his family members were visiting and he wanted her to tidy their flat in the Barton Hill area of Bristol.  Dailymail reports that shortly after Abdi arrived at the property, Khadar attacked her using three knives before dialling 999 and confessing to killing her. 

When police arrived, they found Khadar in the local area, where he told them: 'I've got something to show you at the flat.' Kate Brunner QC, prosecuting, told the jury: 'Police went into the flat. They were greeted by a horrifying scene. 'Blood was smeared on the walls and floor. They discovered the body of Amal Abdi in the living room, lying curled up in a pool of blood with large wounds on her neck.

'She had been repeatedly stabbed with a number of different knives. 'The prosecution's case is that it was a set-up, that the defendant lured her to the flat with a false story about his relatives visiting.'

At a police station after his arrest, Khadar asked officers: 'My wife, she OK?' When told she had died, he replied: 'Can you kill me?'

The court heard that hours before she died on the evening of July 26 last year, Abdi had demanded a divorce and was going to tell her family, saying: 'I don't want you any more.' However, Khadar had claimed during police interview that his wife would shout and slap him and he would try to be tolerant but 'his patience had worn out' which led him to commit the horrible act.

The couple were both from Somalia and married in 2010, with Abdi moving to the UK and settling in Bristol, but Khadar did not join her. 

Trial on the case continues.

Man's inhumanity to fellow man has been exhibited once again as two children were rescued this morning from being killed by some members of a church and their family members after they were branded witches.

Prophet David Effiom Zion has led the members of his Divine Zion of God Church in Ikot Abasi Effiom district of Akpabuyo LGA in Cross Rivers state and some families of two children aged, 7 - 10 who were branded witches, and tied the children to a tree and assault them with a machete.

"The stigma that confronted the children since they were branded witches took on a new dimension when the children were taken to the forest, tied to a tree, battered and assaulted with a machete by some members of the family, leaving them with cuts and bruises all over their bodies.

"This happened on the heels of the screening of the movie ‘The Fake Prophet’ in Ikot Offiong Ambai community in Akpabuyo Local Government Area (LGA) by Basic Rights Counsel Initiative (BRCI), a child’s rights organization based in Calabar.

"Respite came the way of the children when an uncle who arrived from town demanded the release of the children with threats of calling the police and on learning of BRCI’s visit, took the children to the venue where the movie highlighting issues of child abuse and witchcraft branding was being screened.

"In his opening remark, the Secretary of BRCI, Barrister James Ibor noted that the movie screening was to mark the 2016 Day of the African Child, recounting the story of how the day was set aside by the Organization of African Unity (OAU) now African Union (AU) in 1991.

"Speaking also, Theresa Okpa who is the Executive Director of Mediatrix Development Foundation (MDF), the NGO of the Wife of the Governor of Cross River State, Dr. Linda Ayade said issues of child witch branding is abuse of the rights of children and assured that the Mediatrix Foundation is partnering with organizations like BRCI to address issues relating to the abuse of children’s rights.

"In the same vein, Rev. Okon James, the Assistant Pastor of the Mount Zion Lighthouse Full Gospel Church Ikot Offiong Ambai, emphatically noted that their church does not promote the belief in witches and usually condemned any actions that abuse or torture children on the grounds of being a witch.

"Meanwhile, the rescued children were later taken to the Community Health Center where BRCI paid the bills for them to be given proper medical attention, while ensuring that the uncle who rescued them temporarily keep the children in his custody."

The innocent baby lost her life in the shocking incident 

A commercial bus driver has crushed an infant baby to death in Makurdi, Benue State and her mother serious;y injured while waiting to collect her N150 balance.

According to Idoma Voice, the shocking incident happened along Makurdi-Gboko expressway on Wednesday at about 9p.m.


Narrating how the incident happened, the father of the deceased baby who simply gave his name as Anuum revealed that the mother of child had boarded the vehicle, alongside her baby, from the second gate of the Benue State University (BSU) to Coca-Cola junction located along the highway.

After giving the bus conductor N200 for N150 balance, the conductor refused. As the driver was about speeding off, the woman grabbed the conductor forcing the baby to fall off and dragged on the road.

“The mother and her child, who she carried at her back, were the remaining passengers in the bus. The conductor did not want to give her the change and they drove off, in the process she grabbed the conductor that was already on the moving vehicle, with her baby at the back and she lost balance, fell down and was dragged on the road till the baby fell off from her back, in between the back wheels and was smashed, died instantly and the driver and the conductor drove off,” Anuum said.

The shocking incident drew the attention of sympathizers who thronged the place to catch a glimpse.

According to Daily Sun, Bessy who was born with both male and fe­male organs is having an identity cri­sis, lacking the confi­dence to call herself either a man or woman.


The former Delta Queens striker was thrown out of the Fal­conets camp be­fore the Chile 2008 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup when the coaches discov­ered they had a player that could not pass for a complete woman.

To compound Bessy’s woes, she was duped in 2010 by those who pretended to be raising funds for her to have a corrective surgery Over­sees.

In an interview with Saturday SunSports, Bessy who is presently nursing a frac­tured knee injury, said she longs to have a family of her own but needs assistance.

“I have been going through a trau­matic time and it has not been easy coping with the situation,” Boniface began. “Through the help of some people, I have tried severally to see if I can get the attention of my state government. This has not been suc­cessful. "The last effort I made, I was ad­vised to write a letter and send it via DHL to the governors office.

When I enquired about the procedure, I was told that to send a letter through DHL will cost N10,000, which I could not afford. As the breadwin­ner of my family, it has been tough making ends meet. Throughout last year I did not play with my Club Ibom Angels because of the injury I sustained.”

Continuing, Bessey said: “My wish is to get married and raise a family of my own , but I cannot have it because of this situation. whom do I run to, where will my help come from? Doctors have told me that I’m 85 per cent woman. I need the help of Nigerians to come out of my nasty condition, I plead with them to help me raise some money for an operation to correct my condition.

”Ironically, she said her younger sister, Monica Boniface, her status has affected her sexual life as she has no boy friend. “Intimate relationship with the men? Truth be told, I don’t have any boyfriend. I long to have a relation­ship with men but I cannot because of this issue. It is a very embarrass­ing one. How do you explain to a man that you have both organs, which man will stand such a situa­tion?.

However, I believe that God will not let me waste away like this. I believe that Nigerians will listen to my case and plea and come to my assistance. I pray that God will touch their hearts to come to my rescue,” she cried.

Ekaete, as her team mates fondly call her, in the 2007 women’s league season, scored a total of 12 goals for Delta Queens – seven in the League, three in the Challenge Cup and two in the Super Four. Bessy must undergo surgery to either remain a woman or launch herself into the men’s world.

19 Die As Fuel Tanker And Commercial Bus Collide Along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway (Photo)

19 people were feared dead in an accident involving a commercial bus and a petrol tanker on Sunday along the Fidiwo/Ajebo area of Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

According to PUNCH, the accident occurred around 1PM at a section of the road where there is a diversion of traffic to a single lane, due to construction work on the road.


The Public Relations Officer of the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency, Babatunde Akinbiyi, said the accident was caused by the driver of a loaded fuel tanker, which was travelling to Ibadan.

Akinbiyi said that the tanker driver was trying to overtake another truck when it collided with the oncoming commercial bus killing the 18 passengers and the driver instantly.

“Our men who were at the scene of the accident said that all the 18 passengers in the bus and the driver died on the spot, while the cement truck which had also given way to the overtaking tanker was also affected by the impact of the crash,” he said.

Herdsmen Launch Fresh Attacks, Kill Over 11 In Delta & Benue

A 45-year-old farmer and hunter, Mr. Monday Nwadei, has been reportedly killed by Fulani herdsmen at Ossissa community, Ndokwa East Local Government Area, Delta State.

It was gathered the victim was riding on a motorcycle on his way from his plantain farm when he was allegedly shot dead by the herdsmen who resumed attacks in the area over the weekend.


Vanguard sources said Nwadei had unknowingly passed through a hideout where the herdsmen were holding hostage, an abducted lawyer and one other kidnap victim when he met with his untimely death.

Similarly, suspected herdsmen had on Friday, June 17, launched a deadly attack in Logo local government area of Benue State, killing about 10 persons and displacing scores of farmers.

It was gathered that the attacks occurred in Dusa and Jun villages of Turan council wards. Also, the assailants attacked the Gabo community in Nenzev ward, shot and killed persons including a community leader, women and children.

Tragedy as Angry In-laws Pursue Man to the Market and Cut His Throat in Broad Daylight

A bizarre incident has seen angry father-in-law and his two brothers in-law cut a man's throat after pursuing him in the market place.

According to AFP, the man's throat was slit by relatives of his wife who disapproved of their marriage in the latest "honour killing" to hit Pakistan.


Police said the incident took place on at a marketplace in the Punjab city of Burewala on Friday, when Muhammad Irshad, 43, was attacked by his father-in-law and two brothers in-law, police said.

"The assailants were armed with knives and hatchets and after inflicting several wounds on Irshad´s body they slit his throat," district police chief Ghazi Salahuddin told AFP.

The victim who had married Mussarat Bibi, the daughter of a rich local agricultural family, had fled about an year ago as he feared his in-laws would kill him because they did not approve of his marriage to their daughter. However, he recently returned to see his parents, in a bid to settle issues before the unfortuante incident happened.

The police are not looking after the killers who fled since the incident. This is the latest 'honour killing' in Pakistan.


Honour killing is the homicide of a member of a family or social group by other members, due to the belief the victim has brought dishonour upon the family or community. The death of the victim is viewed as a way to restore the reputation and honour of the family.

FG Assures Nigerians On Proper Implementation Of 2016 Budget

The Federal Government has reassured Nigerians that it will give priority attention to infrastructure, agriculture and power in the implementation of the 2016 budget.

Minister of State for Budget and National Planning, Ahmed Zainab gave the assurance at a meeting with members of Civil Society Organizations in Abuja on the implementation of the 2016 budget.


Some members of the civil society organizations have expressed their concerns about the implementation of the 2016 budget, one month after the 2016 appropriation bill was passed by the National Assembly.

Some of them in the meeting were especially concerned with how the Federal Government would implement the 30% earmarked for capital projects.

A total of 6.06 trillion was appropriated for the 2016 fiscal year by the Federal Government with over two trillion deficit to be financed by borrowing and using recovered loots.

43 Terrorists Sentenced To Death

A Somalia court on Saturday sentenced 43 Islamist terrorists to death in the north-eastern city of Garowe in Puntland region for their role in recent attacks on the region.

Abdullahi Hersi Eed, Puntland’s Regional Attorney General, said the court sentenced the militants to death for their role in the attack, which left 24 soldiers dead and another 73 wounded in the region.


The militants were members of al-Shabaab, an organisation of Sunni extremists that has been fighting for the domination of Somalia for years, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.

The Islamist insurgents want to set up a theocracy in the country. Al The defendants were given one month to appeal the verdict.

“All of the defendants admitted their guilt, insisting they took part in the recent attacks,” Hersi Eed said. The court delayed the hearings of two militants, who were under 16 years old.
