Nathaniel Bassey and wife celebrate 5th wedding anniversary

Gospel singer Nathaniel Bassey and his wife Sarah Bassey are today celebrating their 5th wedding anniversary.

Sharing a photo from their wedding, Nathaniel penned a lengthy post appreciating his wife for her support and love despite his work schedule.

He wrote; “Few weeks ago after we got to the hotel from a night of worship in Abuja, my wife said to be “honey, a woman came to me and asked that I pray for her so her sisters or daughters can have a husband like mine?.”

While she heard that prayer, she said in her heart, this woman has no idea what she is asking for. And we had a good laugh. I remember Jesus answering same when some disciples asked Him a question. “ 38 But Jesus said unto them, Ye know not what ye ask: can ye drink of the cup that I drink of? and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?”

My wife pays a huge price for my calling. Believe me when I say huge. My trips, prayer & music times, calls, church, counseling folks. I remember some of the nights during the Hallelujah Challenge when friends had to take over from me, I would be upstairs praying for my children who were both ill as well as my wife who at some point joined throwing up, and would come down to continue the praise session.

Those early times of our marriage when it hit her the sort of schedule I had, I’d come home to find her in tears. Would hug and encourage her. Then much later when she’s fine I’d ask jokingly, if she would still marry me if she had an inkling of my schedule, she’ll pause, smile and say yes.

That’s why it’s sad to see people come on social media to rain abuses on pastors (genuine ones I mean), tearing them apart because of some little things they have, not knowing that most of them weren’t even bought but given. After years of sowing seeds. Anyway, that’s for another day.

Today’s to celebrate God’s faithfulness in our lives for the past 5 years and looking forward to the next 85 at least. Here we don’t divorce. We are here for LIFE!

And to my dear wife, thanks for being with me. The days I upset you, and those you upset me more, and for the great and trying times we’ve been through together by the GRACE OF GOD, I say thank you. And to JESUS, our LORD, our keeper, anchor, sustainer, defender and supporter, we say A BILLION THANKS From your husband, friend, Pastor, Prophet and personal comedian, I say a Happy 5th anniversary to US. Our children call us BLESSED. #saranataproject”.

E-Commerce Giant, Jumia Suffered N53 Billion Loss In 2017

Despite several cuts and tweaks to its business model and structure, it appears all is not still well with Jumia.

This is because, after two years of pressure and record losses, Jumia said it losses rose beyond forecast for the full year 2017 Jumia, Africa's largest e-Commerce company said it made a net loss of N53.3 billion for the full financial year of 2017.

This is a major negative and huge difference compared to N40.5 billion reported in 2016.

Full-year revenue for Jumia came in at EUR93.8 million compared to EUR89 million reported in 2016.

There are various sides to this result and the more we look at the company's summary result released by Rocket Internet, its parent company, the more we see more signs of worry for Jumia going forward.

Various structural changes have been applied to the business model of Jumia in the last three years.

On August 30, 2016 Africa eCommerce Holding GmbH, the holding company of Jumia, was merged into Africa Internet Holding GmbH (formerly trading under Africa Internet Group).

In its usual flowery comment, Rocket Internet said in its official statement that: "In June 2016, all business models of Africa Internet Group were renamed under the Jumia brand."

It is now very clear that Rocket Internet plans to sell off the company via an IPO was a sound decision given the fact that after five years, there are no signs that Jumia would break-even before it caves-in.

Konga, Jumia's arch-rival has also witnessed its near-end before it was sold to Zinox Group for undisclosed amounts.

While Kinnevik and Naspers have not disclosed the terms of the transactions, there are feelers that the company was sold for a ridiculously low amount with up to 99% loss on equity.

Meet The Beautiful Lady Who Died After Being Forced To Abort Her Baby For Cancer Treatment

Charlotte Smith, a 22-year-old mother-to-be who was forced to abort her baby so she could start chemotherapy has died after losing her battle with cancer.

According to The Sun UK, the young woman was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia and told she would be risking her life if she carried her 11-week-old baby to term.

The young mum, from North Yorkshire, agreed to a termination and began treatment on the day her baby's heart stopped.

She died yesterday morning after losing the fight with cancer.

Charlotte had spoken about her pregnancy - saying she was excited - before she started feeling unwell.

The then 21-year-old said she suffered excruciating back pain and was extremely tired.

Following a 10 week blood test, she was called in to hospital to stay overnight after an abnormality was found. It was then she was delivered the blow that she had leukaemia and desperately needed treatment.

She told the Mirror: "The only thing I was bothered about was the baby. "But it was either my life or the child's, and I didn't want to die. There was 84 percent cancer cells in my blood."

She agreed to termination and treatment, but only on the condition that she could have a scan to see her baby first.

After two rounds of chemotherapy and a successful bone marrow transplant from her brother, Charlotte's health tragically declined.

Her close friend Jordanna announced her death on Facebook yesterday.

She wrote: "Well, I never thought I'd ever in a million years be having to write this. "A lot of you may have seen Charlotte's post about her going into hospital this morning.

"She is my best friend and has been for many years, she has sadly passed away, she had an infection and couldn't fight it. "I've been to see her little face, she is at peace now, I'm with her mum and her husband we are all trying to stay strong. She was a little fighter but couldn't fight much more."

Charlotte wanted to make routine blood tests a priority for women in the early stages of pregnancy and had set up a petition.

She wrote: "I could only ask that routine blood tests become a thing of priority as without being pregnant I would not of had any idea I was suffering from this and lived with it for god knows how long.

"I would hate someone else to miss out on finding it early and want to do this petition to prevent it."
