Earlier yesterday news of a N4 billion judgment slammed against Sahara Reporters publisher Omoyele Sowore by Ilorin High Court over a series of news published 2years ago against Senate President Bukola Saraki went viral.

Sahara Reporters' publisher, Omoyele Sowore has reacted to the judgement, describing it as a 'jankara verdict' with a promise to bring the former governor of Kwara State and All Progressives Congress politician, Saraki to book very soon.


Below is what he said:

'Folks: I was alerted to a jankara judgment from an Ilorin High Court judge today, and your guess is as good as mine. Robbers have stolen the gavel of lady justice, and that must also be recovered! Please do not fret!

Saraki started stealing since 1990 at Societe Generale Bank of Nigeria according to the police charge sheet below.

The depositors/customers of SGBN were robbed of their life savings and later the people of Kwara state were robbed blind, lately, the people of Nigeria were robbed of their commonwealth and human dignity. Saraki will pay for all these sooner than later'.

A man identified as Mr. Celestine Chikeie Ogazie and his wife Mrs Anthonia (nee Fagbamigbe) have been declared wanted by the Nigeria Police Force after allegedly absconding with the sum of Five Million naira (N5,000,000.00) belonging to Berrymart Integrated Services which they worked for in Lagos.

It was gathered that the duo took the money and have not been seen April.

MR. CELESTINE CHIKEZIE OGAZIE WANTED BY THE NIGERIA POLICE FORCE, OFFICE OF THE DEPUTY COMMISSIONER OF POLICE, STATE CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION AND INTELLIGENCE DEPARTMENT (SCIID), PANTI, YABA, LAGOS. 

The pictured and above named Person is hereby declared wanted by the Nigeria Police Force. A warrant of arrest has been duly obtained against this person. He is wanted for the offence of Criminal Breach of Trust, Theft by Servant, Fraud and Joint Act committed between April and June 2017 at Port Harcourt.

The suspect being an employee of Berrymart Integrated Services in Lagos committed the offence through false representation and deceit.

He absconded with the sum of Five Million naira (N5,000,000.00) belonging to the company. He is Igbo by tribe and married to Mrs. Anthonia Fagbamigbe (Co-consiprator). Places Frequented: Lagos, Aba, Onitsha, Port Harcourt.

End of the Road for Suspected Member of Badoo Cult Group as Ikorodu Residents Set Him Ablaze (Photos)

A member of the dreaded Badoo cult group, was in the early hours of Friday, June 30, 2017, reportedly caught, stripped unclad and burnt to death by angry residents of Igbo-Oluwo, in the Ikorodu area of Lagos.

It was gathered that the deceased who was caught by 1:00am today and reportedly lynched and set ablaze around 6.45am at Jumofak junction in the area, was in company of another suspect who is now at large.

Multiple online reports alleged that two suspects allegedly robbed their bodies with oil, which is a major tactic of the dreaded Badoo gang that has been terrorizing residents of Ikorodu for long.

The Nigeria police authorities, rising from an emergency meeting, have said that they have power to keep the arrested kidnapping kingpin Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, widely known as Evans, in their custody.

According to Daily Trust, a senior police source said that some people who felt that their interest was being threatened were the ones behind the move to get the court to release Evans.


A lawyer had approached a Federal High Court to challenge the continued detention of Evans, stressing that it violated Evans’ fundamental human right.

Sources at the police high command said it was Evans’ gang members yet to be arrested that sought for and got the services of the lawyer to frustrate further investigation into the case.

It was however gathered that the Police expected such a move early enough and had equally secured an order of the Federal High Court to detain Evans for at least three months.

The order, a police source told newsmen, was secured last week Thursday, and it covers the retention of Evans and all his gang members so far arrested for three months.

The source said this was to enable the police conclude all investigations in Nigeria, Ghana and South Africa so that all those involved in the kidnapping ring run by Evans would be brought to book.

3 Students of FUTO Caught During Armed Robbery Operation in Imo State (Photos)

Three students of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri have been paraded by the Imo State Commissioner of Police, Chris Okey Ezike, on Tuesday, June 27 along side others for various crimes ranging from kidnapping, cultism, stealing, and armed robbery.

Among the suspects paraded are three students of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO) arrested for alleged armed robbery and cult-related offences.

Briefing newsmen at the command’s headquarters in Owerri, Ezike said the FUTO students identified as Igboerika Ifeanyi Paul, 23; Obodo John Ifeanyi, 23; and Agumadu Tochukwu, 19, robbed one, O. N. Felix, of the same institution, at Eziobodo hostel, of a laptop and other electrical accessories, after attacking him with an axe and other dangerous weapons.

Items recovered from them included laptop, one axe, 20 SIM cards from different networks, two hammers and four black axes.

Ezike said the effort of the anti-cult unit of his command yielded results in apprehending the suspects, disclosing that the new approach adopted by his command such as ‘operation identification, arrest, detention and prosecution of suspected armed robbers, kidnappers, cultists and other notorious criminals; and profiling of communities, organizations/hotels, have yielded fruits.

He also disclosed that other measures, such as forensic technology in investigation and detection had been helpful in tracking suspected criminals in the 27 local councils of the state.

The alleged killers of a Bauchi Blogger who were reportedly hired by the victim's ex-girlfriend have been nabbed. This was made public in a statement by police in Bauch state.

The police statement reads:

"It would be recalled that on the 12/3/2017 one Abdulhakeem Bauchin Bauchi was killed by unknown persons and his decomposing body was recovered three days after.

However, on the 17/3/2017,Police detectives attached to Anti kidnapping unit of the Command arrested four suspects but the deceased vehicle was no where to be seen.

Furthermore, on the 27/6/2017 Police detectives successfully recovered the deceased Mercedes Benz 300 model at Edo State and arrested two additional suspects as follows,

1.Earnest Danladi ‘m’ aged 30 years of Pankshin LGA of Plateau State and,
2.Freedom Idom ‘m’ aged 35 years of Awen East LGA of Edo State.

Meanwhile, investigation also revealed that suspects were hired by one of the victim’s girl friend who felt betrayed following his intention to marry another woman.

Finally, efforts are being intensified to apprehend the Lady after which suspects would be charged to Court for prosecution, please.

Evans Sues Police, Says Charge Me Or Free Me, Dad Files 27-point Affidavit In Support

Kidnap kingpin, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike a.k.a. Evans, has dragged the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris and three others before the Federal High Court in Lagos over alleged illegal detention.

EVANS Joined as respondents in the suit are the Nigeria Police Force, Commissioner of Police, Lagos State and the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, Lagos State Police Command.

In the rights enforcement suit filed on his behalf by a Lagos-based lawyer, Olukoya Ogungbeje, Evans is praying for the order of court to direct the respondents to immediately charge him to court if there is any case against him in accordance with Sections 35 (1) (c) (3) (4) (5) (a) (b) and 36 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.


In the alternative, he is praying the court to compel the respondents to immediately release him unconditionally in the absence of any offence that will warrant his being charged to court.

Evans is further contending in the suit that his continued detention by the respondents since June 10, 2017, without being charged to court or released on bail is an infringement on his fundamental human rights.

He argued that the respondents ought to have charged him to court in accordance with the provisions of Sections 35 and 36 of the Constitution.

It was further argued that the alleged offence committed by the applicant (Evans) are correspondingly intertwined with the constitutional safeguards as provided under Sections 35 and 36 of the Constitution.

To support Evans’ case, his father, Stephen Onwuamadike personally deposed to a 27-paragraph affidavit in support of the suit. In his affidavit, Evans’ father averred that his son (applicant) has been subjected to media trial without any court order by the respondents.

He further averred that the media trial and news orchestrated by the respondents have continued to generate reactions in both print and electronic media without his son being afforded fair hearing and trial before a court of law.

He added that since his son’s arrest, all his family members have been denied access to him while media practitioners have been granted unfettered access to him. The matter has not been assigned to any judge and no date has been fixed for the hearing. We have court order to hold him for 3 months says the Nigerian Police.

Meanwhile, reacting to the suit, spokesman for the Police High Command, Jimoh Moshood said that the Police had obtained a court order from a Federal High Court, Abuja, to detain Evans for three months, in order to allow them carry out proper investigation on the suspect.

The investigation, according to the police will take operatives to Ghana, South Africa and many parts of the country before he could be arraigned.

Deputy Commissioner of Police, Administration, in the Lagos Command, Dasuki Galandanci had told journalists last Friday that the Police is in the midst of a thorough investigation on Evans.

He said: “Evans has been a kidnapper for a long time and has been on the wanted list of the Police in Anambra, Abuja, Enugu, Edo and Lagos States. He also has a criminal gang, some of whom have been arrested in Enugu and Lagos. “But there are still more out there. Therefore, this needs a painstaking investigation. Besides, we need to understudy him as well as debrief him properly. By so doing, we intend to use his tactics to get others. He will eventually be charged to court after investigation is concluded.” ‘He is innocent before the law until proved guilty’

Also, reacting to Evans suit, a lawyer and Don, Gbenga Ojo, said, “It may surprise Nigerians that he had to approach the court, however, in the eyes of the law, he is presumed innocent until pronounced guilty by a competent court.

However, as it is, I don’t think any court will grant him bail considering the allegations leveled against him. “It is the same law that gives him fundamental human rights to seek redress in court that provides that no one can kill other persons unlawfully or kidnap and subject victims to unbearable conditions. So, the court will look at all these before considering to do anything. In my opinion, no court will allow such application to fly.

“However, if the prosecution is not ready to arraign him now due to their investigation, they should take him to the magistrate court to get a remand order, pending the conclusion of their investigation.”

6 Nigerians Arrested in Ghana Over Alleged Kidnapping and Rape (Photos)

The suspects 

Police have arrested a 32 year- old Nigerian for allegedly kidnapping and raping a 21 year old woman at Ashaley Botwe, near Accra.

Five other Nigerians alleged to have also assaulted the woman have also been arrested by the police. They are Ike Amechi, Anthony Emmanuel, Godfred Alex, Koyode Ayodele and Opious Owner.


The Accra Regional Police Commander of Operations, Chief Superintendent Kwesi Ofori, told the Daily Graphic that the main suspect, Chimaroke and the young woman were friends on Facebook and had been interacting regularly.

Chimaroke later convinced the woman to come to his house, which was a four-bedroom house where he lived with the five accomplices, for an Eid-ul Fitr present.

The Police Commander said that when the woman arrived at the house, Chimaroke, instead of giving her the present asked her to sleep with him. The woman, however, refused to do so.

“Chimaroke made advances and when she resisted, he smashed her phone and raped her.”

He said that “Fortunately for her [the victim], she had another phone on her, which she used to call her brothers, who later called the police to go and rescue her.’’
