Court awards N500 million to King Sunny Ade over copyrights infringement 30 years after he sued

A Federal High Court on Friday, November 13, awarded King Sunny Ade N500 million as damages for copyright infringement. Also included was an additional N3 million for prosecuting the case.
This is coming thirty years after the Juju music legend took record manufacturing company African Songs and its subsidiary Take Your Choice Stores to court.

A Lord's Chosen pastor in Tanzania, Chukwudi Okechukwu, has reportedly bagged a 30-year jail term after being convicted of smuggling cocaine worth Sh3.1 billion. Anti-narcotics police allegedly believe Okechukwu is one of the top members of a drug syndicate operating in Tanzania, Nigeria and South Africa. He was jailed alongside a South African, one Stan Hycent and Pakistani Shoaib Mohammad Ayazi over the same offence. High Court Judge, Amir Mruma, reports say has ordered the accused to pay Sh9 billion in fines. He and his three accomplices were reportedly hiding in a mansion in Dar es Salaam’s Kuduchi Mtongani suburbs when the police allegedly surrounded the house and arrested them.

Pastor arrested and arraigned in Lagos after seven stolen vehicles were found inside his church premises


The Lagos state police command has arrested and arraigned one Pastor Felix Otulukwu before the Igbosere magistrate’s court after seven suspected stolen vehicles worth over N30 million were allegedly found inside his church for sale.

According to a report by PM news, Pastor Felix opened a church in Agbor, Delta state and was using the church premises to hide stolen vehicles which he reworked and sold to unsuspecting buyers. He was apprehended after his former manager informed the police of his criminal activities.
