Some deadly criminals terrorising residents of Bauchi have finally been caught by gallant men of the Nigeria police force. This was made public by the Commissioner of Police, Bauchi State, CP Zaki M. Ahmed in a press statement.


The statement reads: ACHIEVEMENTS OF BAUCHI STATE POLICE COMMAND BETWEEN 10TH JANUARY TO 28TH FEBRUARY, 2017.

In our continued effort to stem the tide of crimes and criminality to its barest minimum, the Command during the period under review took a proactive step which included but not limited to the following, visibility policing, criminal mapping, intelligence led policing, convoy patrol and constant Raids of Black spots and criminal hideouts in order to ensure a safe and secured environment.

The above measures yielded and continues to yield remarkable achievements as follow:

One (1) Magazine loaded with 30 rounds of 5.5mm Ammunition

OTHER EXHIBITS RECOVERED INCLUDE:
Forty Six (46) Handsets of different modes used in negotiating Ransom by suspected kidnappers.

One (1) bag containing Items suspected to be hard drugs

One (1) Cutlass
Two Quivers containing 30 Arrows Two (2) Bows
Five Torchlights
One (1) Catapult
Three (3) Tramadol Tablets suspected to be hard drugs
Cash in sum of Three Hundred and Eighty Nine Thousand Naira only (#389,000).

Meanwhile, the Command has rescued Twenty One (21) hostages among whom were Twelve (12) Women rescued from Basirka/Balmo Forest in Darazo LGA and arrested over One Hundred and Thirty One (131) suspects, including Fifty Five (55) suspected Kidnappers, Three (3) suspected thugs otherwise known as (Sara Suka) Thirty Nine (39) Suspected armed Robbers, Sixteen (16 Rape suspects, One (1) suspect in respect of a of abandoned child suspect, Two (2) suspected Grievous Hurt suspects, Fifteen (15) Homicide suspects and Two (2) Mischief suspects respectively.

A total of Ninety Three (93) suspects were charged to Court, Fourteen (14) Cleared, while Twenty One (21) others are under investigation. Suspects have volunteered very useful information to Police detectives regarding their nefarious activities.

CONCLUSION: It is pertinent to emphasize here that, these aforementioned successes were made possible through cooperation born out of implicit confidence from well meaning members of the public and sheer patriotism to engender a safe and secure environment for all residents in Bauchi State.

Also, In compliance with the IGPs directives, the Command has extended the Change Begins With Me campaign to the Divisional levels and plotted a robust synergy with Sister agencies with a view to sharing intelligence to assist in combating crime.

Equally, tremendous efforts are made in collaboration with all major stakeholders such as Eminent Peoples Forum. NURTW, Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) etc to get valuable information which after evaluation can be used as actionable intelligence that can assist in fighting crime in the state.

Finally, the Command is making a clarion call on the good people of Bauchi State including various Associations/Unions and all residents in the State to cooperate and make the State safe and secured. Thank you.

A trained vehicle panel beater in Abia state, Uche Udoma who was arrested by the Umuahia Central Police, said he had been without work for a long time, hence resorted to robbery to raise money in order to save his son who was seriously sick.


He said: “I’m a car panel beater and I have not done any job for some time now, even when my son became sick and was hospitalised and I needed some money to pay his bill. “That was what led me into stealing. I broke into my neighbour’s house and stole her Plasma television, but I was caught in the act and the television set was collected back from me.”

He was arrested by operatives of the Anti-kidnapping Unit attached to the Umuahia Central Police Station after they received a distress call from Dr. Chioma Okoli, who owned the house that was being burgled by the suspect at Amakama Housing Estate in Umuahia.

How 'Vampire' Killed Over 200 People - Police Gives Full Report on the Notorious Kidnapper Killed in Rivers (Photos)

The Nigerian Police paraded the body of the notorious kidnapper and robber, Henry Chibueze, also known as Vampire at the police headquarters in Owerri today, revealing at the same time the mind chilling killings carried out by the gangster and his followers.

According to the police, Vampire, by his own admission had killed over 200 people, beginning from wiping out his girlfriend and eight members of her family in Lagos.


“He had earlier confessed to the murder of his girlfriend Sandra and eight (8) members of her family, among them six (6) children in Lagos State. He alleged that the girlfriend stole his N45million share of N110million ransom paid by the family of one of his victims in Omoku, Rivers Stats,” said CSP Jimoh Moshood, the spokesman of the Police headquarters.

The police described Vampire as a cultist who later turned into a vicious and dangerous kidnapper/armed robber. He was first declared wanted in 2013.

Police said he was responsible for many cases of kidnappings, armed robberies, murder of notable and prominent personalities in Imo State and South Eastern/South South States.

“He is a serial killer who also confessed to have killed over Two Hundred (200) people in various kidnappings and armed robbery attacks.

“He claimed responsibility for the murder of the following persons; Placid Ejimadu (Nze Ji Obi), Jonathan Ibemere aka Gwuogwuo and Livinus Iwumune all natives of Agbaja Nwangele L.G.A. Imo State."

*The killing of a member of the Imo State House of Assembly at Orji in 2015
* The kidnap/murder of a traditional rulers’ wife from Mbaise in 2015 whose corpse has not been seen till date.
*The kidnap/murder of a man from Malaysia at First Bank World Bank Branch Owerri.
* The killing of 3 members of a family including a woman from Nkwerre in 2012 after collecting ransom from the family.

Also paraded were five members of his gang, Obinna Elah, 26-years-old from Orlu, who was Vampire’s second in command, Arinze Abecheta, 24 years, from Okohia, Isiala Mbano L.G.A. and Chukwuebuka Ikeazota, 23, from Arochukwu in Abia state.

The fifth member of the gang was Samuel Ugochukwu, 24-years-old, also from Arochukwu in Abia and the sixth was Clifford Aheana from Omu Awa in Ikwerre LGA, Rivers State.

Police said they recovered five AK 47 rifles, 300 rounds of AK 47 ammunition from the gang. Charms were also recovered from the body of Vampire, the killed leader of the gang.

The gang members were arrested early today by a special police squad after a gun battle at Omu Awa Forest in Ikwerre LGA of Rivers State.

“The Police Special Forces working under the supervision of the Commissioner of Police, Imo State Police Command swooped on the hideout of Henry Chibueze aka ‘Vampire’ and his gang and engaged them in fierce gun battle that lasted several hours in the early hours of 02/03/2017 at Omu Awa forest Ikwerre L.G.A. of Rivers State.

“This operation was successfully carried out as the dreaded, vicious and kidnap for ransom and armed robbery kingpin, Henry Chibueze aka ‘Vampire’ and his gang who were rescued by his criminal cohorts from the Owerri High Court premises on 27/01/2017 from the custody of Officers of the Nigeria Prisons Service died during the shootout with the Police Special Forces and all the other suspects mentioned above were arrested and the exhibits listed recovered from them."

The police said the living members of the ‘Vampire’ gang have made useful statement, confessing and admitting to have carried out four (4) successful kidnap operations after the rescue of their gang leader at the Owerri High Court premises on 27 January this year. They will all be charged to court on completion of investigation, Moshood said.

Shock as Policeman is Arrested Trying to Steal a Newborn Baby at a Hospital in Imo State

A Police Sergeant identified as Iseke Koradam, has been apprehended by operatives of the Nigerian police Force while allegedly attempting to steal a newborn baby at a hospital in Oke-Uvuru, in the Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area Imo state.


The state Commissioner of Police, Taiwo Lakanu, made the shocking disclosure while speaking at a press briefing in Owerri, the state capital on Wednesday.

He said; “On February 22, Rev. Erancisco Emeh, Chinedu Ubah (30) and Ifeoma Joseph (27) were arrested at Orient Hospital in Oke-Uvuru Aboh Mbaise Local Government while trying to steal a baby from the hospital.

“They have since confessed to the crime, alleging that they planned to steal the baby in connivance with a police sergeant, Iseke Koradam.

“The suspects have made useful statements and are helping the police in its investigation.”

The IGP Intelligence Response Team (IRT) around 1am this morning in Omu Awa forest, Ikwere L.G.A of Rivers State killed the most dreaded, vicious and deadly abductor in the South-south and South-eastern part of Nigeria, Vampire.

Vampire originally named Henry Chibueze was also an armed robber who made a fortune from crimes. He was rescued from prison warders in court in Owerri on the 27th of January, 2017 with a bounty placed on his head by Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State.


Five members of the gang were also arrested alive and caches of arms and ammunition recovered from them.

The five members of the gang are now in Police custody. They are:

1. Obinna Ela
2. Arinze Abecheta
3. Chukwu Ebuka
4. Samuel Ugochukwu
5. Clifford Aheana.

They were responsible for so many kidnap and armed robbery attacks in Imo, Abia, Rivers, Delta and other States in the South-South/South-East where several innocent people were killed by the gang. They will be paraded and charged to court on completion of investigation.

The clash between the Nigeria Police, DSS and the Peace Corps left casualties behind as 50 officials were whisked away from their newly commissioned complex at Jabi, Abuja.

According to reports, 6 people were seriously injured while two others are currently lying unconscious in the hospital. The arrested officials will soon be charged to court by the police after investigations are completed.

A Honda vehicle and a trailer were involved in a nasty collision.

No life was reportedly lost, but the vehicles involved were terribly mangled.

Teenager Boko Haram Member Arrested in Borno Reveals Why She Refused to Bomb Innocent People (Photo)

A teenager, Amina Yusuf, paraded by the military on Wednesday in Maiduguri said she failed to detonate her explosive because she did not subscribe to Boko Haram ideology.

The 17-year-old suicide bomber told newsmen in Maiduguri that she was abducted five years ago alongside her parents in Madagali in Adamawa state after a terror attack on the village.


“I was abducted along side my parents in Madagali in Adamawa after the terrorists attacked our village. We were taken to a camp in the bush where we were forcefully indoctrinated by the group,” she said.

The suspected suicide bomber alleged that her parents were killed after they had refused to be indoctrinated . “My parents were executed because they did not join the group. “I was married off to a Boko Haram militant with whom I lived in the camp,” she said.

“One day I was asked to wear the bombs.I was brought to Maiduguri with an instruction that I detonate the bomb where there is large crowd of people”, the teenager added.

She said that she declined to detonate the explosive because she does not want to die. “They said I should press the button but I refused and allowed security men to capture me alive. “My four siblings are still with the terrorists in the camp,” Yusuf said. Maj.- Gen. Lucky Irabor the Theatre Commander of Operation Lafiya Dole had presented her along with two unindentified others to newsmen during a weekly briefing in Maiduguri. -NAN
