BREAKING NEWS: Fourteen People Shot Dead Inside A Nightclub

Andre Costa, security secretary for the state of Ceara -- of which Fortaleza is the capital, has revealed that about 14 people were killed overnight in a shootout at a nightclub in Fortaleza, northeastern Brazil.


The incident has left many people in shock.

"We can confirm 14 deaths," Andre Costa said on Saturday according to AFP.

Costa added that other victims are hospitalised in serious condition, but did not say how many people were injured.

According to a Premium Times report, the Festus Keyamo Chambers, counsel to Stephanie Otobo, the alleged mistress of fiery cleric, Johnson Suleman, have reacted to the video released on Saturday, appearing to show their client saying she was paid to defame the pastor.

Ms. Otobo’s lawyer, Festus Keyamo, told Premium Times on Saturday that he could not confirm or deny the video.


“We saw the video online on Saturday morning but we are yet to get any formal statement from Stephanie confirming or debunking the video. We are lawyers and we only act on our client’s instructions. So, we don’t have any comment on the matter,” he said.

According to Premium Times, Ms.Otobo could not be immediately reached to confirm the latest development.

When asked what will become of the pending court case, he said, “No comment, we are waiting to hear from our client first before we know the next line of action.”

This development is coming on the heels of the defamation suit filed by the cleric against Ms. Otobo in November 2017, at the Lagos State High Court in Ikeja. The hearing was stalled following the latter’s absence in court.

The presiding judge, Adedayo Oyebanji, adjourned the matter to February 7. Meanwhile mixed reactions have trailed Ms. Otobo’s sudden U-turn.

Ms. Otobo, who said she came to Nigeria from Canada with the intention to further her career, said she succumbed to the manipulation of politicians and pastors to smear Mr. Suleman because she was told it would help her career.

“They paid me a lot of money,” she said, wiping tears from her eyes. Mr. Suleman’s wife, Lizzy, in turn addressed the congregation, asking them to forgive Ms. Otobo, as she had confessed to her sins.

Ms. Otobo had also accused Mr. Suleman, through her lawyer, of failing to keep a marriage promise made to her last year. She formally filed a petition asking the police to investigate multiple allegations against the preacher.

In a letter to the Lagos State Police Commissioner in February 2017, she accused Mr. Suleman of illegal procurement of abortion, threat to life, and attempted murder.

Ms. Otobo’s petition came days after she told journalists at a press conference that her relationship with Mr. Suleman ended after the preacher began to insist he wanted a sexual activity that involved a threesome.

The confession video which was posted on the church’s official Facebook group on Saturday morning has attracted over 180,000 views and shared 20,000 times on Facebook.

Many Nigerians have expressed surprise at the sudden turn of event considering the fact that both parties are in court and determined to get ‘justice’.

They are also calling on Ms. Otobo to name the politicians and pastors who she claimed sponsored her if her confession is to believed.

Nigerian Troops Kill 7 Boko Haram Terrorists, Destroy 11 Gun Trucks, 12 Vans

The Nigerian Army has neutralised seven Boko Haram terrorists in the Sambisa forest and Northern Borno on Friday in an operation supported by the Air Force.

According to a statement by Sani Usman, the Director of Army Public Relations late Friday, troops also destroyed 11 gun trucks and 12 Hilux vehicles during the operation.


Mr Usman, a brigadier-general, said other terrorists’ equipment destroyed were make-shift accommodation around Camp Zairo, Improvised Explosives Device, IEDs, booby traps and other delaying obstacles and devices.

“In addition, the gallant troops recovered one gun truck, one anti-aircraft gun, one machine gun, a pistol, large quantity of anti-aircraft gun ammunition, a 120mm mortar base Plate and a dane gun,” he said.

Mr Usman added that three canter trucks, two double barrel rifles, 30 bicycles, power generating sets, cylinders, printers, military kits and IED making workshop were also destroyed by troops.

“Unfortunately, two soldiers were wounded during the encounter.` “The wounded soldiers have since been evacuated by Nigerian Air Force and are responding to treatment,” according to the army spokesman.

He said the GOC 7 Division and Commander, 26 Task Force Brigade, Maj.-Gen. I. M. Yusuf, and Maj.-Gen. I. M. Obot, have visited the troops and commended them on behalf of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Tukur Buratai, for a job well done.

Mr Usman urged the people of Borno, Adamawa and Yobe states to report any fleeing Boko Haram terrorist seen around their communities. He also urged them to look out for the wounded terrorists and report to the nearest military or Police location.

The two Guinness World Records holders will be touring Cairo’s most famous touristic sites, in addition to taking part in a conference in the Fairmont Nile City hotel, Cairo.

Both record-holders won their records in 2011.

Kosen, 35, was first measured in Ankara, Turkey in 2011 and was the first to be measured by Guinness in over 20 years, according to the Guinness World Records official website.

Guinness World Records only has 10 confirmed people in history to reach 8 ft or more.

Kosen took the title from Chinese Xi Shun, who measured 7ft 8.95 inches in 2005. He is also the proud owner of the world’s biggest hands.

Man Shot Dead By Police After Being Labelled A Thief By Customs Officials (Photos)

A man has been allegedly killed by police officers at a checkpoint on his way to Zamfara state.

According to Hassan Sidi, the man was driving a hilux van conveying rice when he approached customs officials at a checkpoint who allegedly requested a bribe from him.

According to information gathered, the driver and father of three children offered to give the customs agents N1000 but they declined and asked him to add extra N500. He reportedly ignored them and drove away.

The customs officials were said to have notified the police who were some meters away that a criminal with a stolen vehicle was approaching them.

On sighting the said vehicle, the police operatives at their checkpoint opened fire on him. He reportedly lost control and crashed the vehicle as he came out alive to explain he’s not a thief.

The policemen were said to have shot at him again – killing him in the process.

Slay Mama Who Was Strangled And Thrown Into A Septic Tank In Rivers Revealed (Photos)

It was reported on Wednesday, January 24 that one 19-year-old girl identified as Chiburuoma Boms ‘was allegedly strangled to death and forced into a septic tank by persons said to be her relations in Elekahia, PHALGA, Rivers state.

It was gathered that men of the Elekahia Police Station arrested six persons who are helping the police with investigation while the deceased’s corpse has been evacuated from the pit and taken to the mortuary for autopsy.

Now according to media personality, Babaduks Ons, the girl’s father allegedly dragged and carried her from his house and threw her into the septic tank where she died.

According to the report, her father said she brought shame and reproach to him and the family with her “wild lifestyle” and he could not take it anymore.

The father reportedly handed himself over to the police after the alleged act.

11-Year-Old Gets Pregnant After Being Repeatedly Raped By School’s Security Guard (Photos)

An intelligent student has been raped by her school’s security guard multiple times in the space of two year, according to police.

The 11-year-old, nicknamed Lele, was already five months pregnant when the incident came to light. Her family have arranged an abortion for her.

The suspected attacker, a married man in his 50s, has been arrested by the Biyang police in central China on suspicion of raping an underage girl.

Lele’s family hadn’t realised that the girl had been raped at school until a recent physical examination showed she was five months pregnant, according to k618.cn, a news outlet affiliated to the Work Committee of Young Pioneers of China.

Apparently, Lele’s mother noticed Lele was not ‘well’, so she took her to the clinic for a checkup on January 15. The girl’s mother was shocked to be told that the girl was with child and called the police.

Lele was just nine years old when she was first raped, a family member revealed to the reporter.

The same family member claimed at the time, Lele was playing on the school’s playground, but was dragged to a staircase by a security guard and got raped.

Lele’s family also claimed that Lele was raped several other times at the school by the same person in the following two years.

Lele had been a top student in her school, but in the last two years the girl was said to become ‘very quiet’.

The local Biyang police have arrested a suspect. In a police report, released on January 25, the suspect is named Liu Baoming who lives in the same town and works at Lele’s school as a security guard.

The report also said Mr Liu had admitted raping Lele in an abandoned building in July, 2017.

The case is under further police investigation.
