A jealous wife who wanted to teach her husband a lifetime lesson has set the man's house on fire.

The woman from Cowdray Park suburb in Bulawayo of Zimbabwe has appeared in court charged with assaulting her ex-husband and setting his property on fire for attending his alleged girlfriend’s funeral.

According to The Chronicle, Fortunate Ndlovu, 33, said Benjamin Mukumbira, 45, of the same suburb deserved what he got. “I do admit that I tore his blankets and poured paraffin on his bed and set them on fire after I found out that he had attended his girlfriend’s funeral after I had just recently lost my twins and he had refused to take responsibility for them,” said Ndlovu.

“I also assaulted him with fists and slammed him against the wall and burnt his clothes for leaving me while I was pregnant.”

Ndlovu appeared before Western Commonage magistrate Themba Chimiso facing physical abuse and malicious damage to property charges. She however pleaded guilty and was remanded in custody to April 27.

Prosecuting, Mufaro Mageza told the court that on April 6 at around 10AM, the complainant left his house to attend a funeral at Luveve cemetery.

“At around 12 noon he received a call from his neighbours who said that the accused person was damaging his property. “He immediately left the burial grounds to his house. When he arrived he discovered that the accused person had broken down the door and burnt his bed, clothes and radio,” said Mageza.

The prosecutor said when Mukumbira confronted Ndlovu she pushed him against the wall and assaulted him with fists. “The value of the damaged property is $400 and nothing was recovered,” said Mageza.

A gang of suspected kidnappers paraded by the Rivers State Police command have confessed to killing and burying two of their victims.

Acording to PUNCH, the gang allegedly killed and buried their two victims in Ohigha community, Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of the state.

The State Police PRO, Ahmad Muhammad had earlier told newsmen that the gang kidnapped and strangled the duo and buried their corpses in shallow graves after collecting ransom. But, Ajie revealed that they (suspects) killed them based on instruction from relatives of the victims.

He said, “We were arrested by the police because we kidnapped and killed one woman and one pastor in Ohigha community. “It is the woman’s son-in-law that brought the job to our boss, Mr. Dreadman Okala. The son-in-law told us that her (Mrs. Sunday) husband was paid huge amount of money. “So, he contacted us to kidnap the woman so that her husband would bring the money to us.

Our boss kidnapped the woman and brought her for us to watch over her while we waited for ransom. “The children of the woman brought N200,000 to us. Our leader bought one live goat and slaughtered it. They later gave me N1,500 to wash my cloth. That is all I got from the deal. “We killed her because somebody who is close to her came and paid us that we should kill her because of their problem.”

On the killing of the clergyman, the suspects stated that they were commissioned to eliminate the pastor by his (the pastor’s) younger brother.

He said, “Pastor Chukwu Ekere’s own is that it is their last born that came to tell our leader that the pastor was disturbing him that he wanted to kill him.

“So our leader also killed him because the brother paid for him to be killed. I am not the one who killed them; I was only guiding them when the leaders were not around.”

Speaking on the theme - ‘The role of the ICPC in the War Against Corruption: Mandate, Strategies and Challenges’ - the ICPC boss said:

“We are developing scorecard like Transparency International which rates countries as to the level of corruption of countries. We have developed one for ministries departments and agencies. Hopefully, we know those who will take the first prize.”

He added that once 2016 Budget is passed, ICPC would begin monitoring how monies are being spent.

he said, “From one of the employees of one of the organisations, we seized about 61 or 62 houses in an estate. The matter is in court so I can’t say too much but I want to say that the officer was not a man. We do prosecution but also try to seize the assets acquired (through corrupt means) so that apart from prosecution, we can strip you of the assets within and outside the country.”

Wicked Woman Pours Pepper In 8-Year-Old Maid's Private Part For Taking Food Without Permission (Photos)

The police in Lagos on Monday took into custody, a 40-year-old trader, Mrs. Deborah Gabriel, who brutalised her housemaid, eight-year-old Glory Ugbon, and then put pepper in the girl’s eyes and private part after the girl decided to steal a plate of rice when she was hungry. Five months after Glory started living with the trader as her housemaid, the girl has been allegedly brutalised many times and there are so many marks all over her body. Glory, who had been in the servitude of Deborah in Surulere, Lagos since November 2015, said her elder sister simply took her to the woman at the time during her visit to Akwa Ibom State and said she would follow her to Lagos to be her housemaid.

“Madam said she would put me in school and my sister told me that she would treat me well. The woman is not related to us. I work at home all the time but sometimes when she is not happy with me, she beats me till I cannot walk” Glory said.

But on Sunday, April 10, the co-tenants of Deborah decided to take action to prevent the woman from killing the girl when they noticed that she had taken the torture of the girl a notch higher. The neighbours alerted child rights activists, who promptly notified the police when the little girl would not stop screaming.

Glory, who was later brought to the Aguda Police Division, Surulere, Lagos along with Deborah, said on that particular day, she was simply eating at the backyard of their house, when her madam accused her of stealing food. Because of that, Deborah brutalised the girl first. “When she was tired of beating me, she forced my legs apart and rubbed some pepper that she had just ground in my eyes and my bum bum (private part),” she said.

When the pain became unbearable, neighbours raised the alarm when they learnt what the woman did to the girl. Glory, who was sobbing as she was brought to the police station along with her madam, explained that she was very hungry when Deborah caught her eating and became furious.

Glory’s case is one of many similar incidents in which housemaids have been brutalised by their bosses. It is unclear under what circumstances Glory was handed over to Deborah. She said she was in Primary 3 before she left her parents in their village. The girl told reporters that her mother and father were in the village in Akwa Ibom State. “Since November that she brought me to Lagos,  she has not talked about any school for me,” Glory said.

The girl had to be taken to Mirabel Sexual Assault Referral Centre in Ikeja, Lagos on Monday for treatment because she would not stop complaining about the pepper, some of which had become lodged inside her.

When a correspondent spoke with Deborah, the woman was apologetic as she explained that “something just came over me” when she tortured the girl. “Please, help me. I am so sorry for what I did. I know it is wrong but I just could not control my anger. I promise to take care of her and give her adequate treatment now. I am so sorry for what I did.”

When Punch correspondent spoke with the woman’s husband, Victor, he said that he slept too deeply that day that he did not hear as his wife brutalised the girl and put pepper in her private part.

He said, “My wife flogged the girl because she caught her eating in the backyard. I told the girl too that she should not have eaten at the back of the house. I was the one who even prepared the stew.

“I went to sleep later and when I woke up the following morning, I saw all the wounds on the girl’s body. That was when I also knew that she had put pepper in the girl’s private part.

“I did not know that she beat her so badly. I guess I slept too deeply and did not hear the girl’s screaming because of the drug I took that day. I would have intervened.”

Saturday PUNCH learnt that Deborah was charged with child abuse and assault against a minor at the Surulere Magistrate’s Court, Lagos on Tuesday.

She was remanded at the Kirikiri Prison, pending the perfection of her bail.

Man Brutally Murders Wife In Front Of Their 22-Year-Old Daughter Over Whatsapp Messages

A man from New Magwegwe suburb in Bulawayo of Zimbabwe has been arrested for allegedly killing his wife following a row over WhatsApp messages he received from his small house (lover), police said. According to The Chronicle, Ramafuma Khupe, 48, was arrested on Tuesday evening for allegedly stabbing his wife Sihlekeni Ncube, 42, in front of their 22-year-old daughter. The incident happened on Sunday at about 8AM at the couple’s home in New Magwegwe. The wife died at the Mpilo Central Hospital on Monday morning from stab wounds to the throat. The husband who wanted to deceive police had reported that the wife died as a result of hanging, but was arrested after post mortem results revealed that his wife had been stabbed.

Bulawayo Metropolitan Province police spokesperson Inspector Precious Simango said Khupe told cops he had rescued his wife after she hanged herself. “We received a report on Sunday of sudden death where the husband said his wife had hanged herself in their house and he had rescued her by cutting the rope. “A post mortem has since revealed that she had a deep cut on her throat and investigations have indicated that Khupe stabbed his wife once in the throat using a knife resulting in her death the following day. We’ve arrested the man and he’s in custody,” said Insp Simango.

The couple’s daughter, Loveness, who witnessed the incident, told The Chronicle that she was still in shock after the tragic turn of events. She said her father assaulted her mother on Sunday while repeatedly shouting he was going to kill her. My mother approached me holding my father’s cellphone saying she couldn’t stand it anymore after discovering that my dad had once again started communicating with his small house who is apparently our next door neighbour at our rural home in Kezi. “My dad has a son with the woman but they had since stopped communicating as he tried to mend his marriage to my mum,” she said.

Loveness said her mother seemed to have been stunned by the resumption of the adulterous affair. “Early Sunday morning, I was awakened by my parents’ fighting. My dad struck my mother with three big blows to the head and she fell on the floor. She told me that she was dying. “He picked her up and dropped her on the bed where he continued assaulting her. He kept saying he was going to kill her,” she said.

Loveness said when she turned her back seconds later, she saw their neighbour pulling a bloody knife from her father’s hands. “At that moment I saw my mother writhing in agony and as I drew closer, I saw a big cut on her throat but she wasn’t bleeding. She whispered into my ear that I should tell people and my siblings when they grow up what had happened to her. My dad just walked out of the house and sat there as if he had done nothing.

“I ran to Magwegwe police station and asked that they call for an ambulance which arrived in no time. When I arrived home after about 30 minutes, my dad hadn’t moved from where I had left him seated. My mum was taken to Mpilo where she died the following day,” she said. Loveness said the big silver knife that her father used to stab her mother had for sometime been next to their television set as they didn’t usually use it unless cutting something big.

“I never expected that someday it would be used to cut my mother’s throat,” she said.

Woman Kills Her Pregnant Maid For Refusing To Mention Name Of Man Who Got Her Pregnant

A 31-year old woman from Seke allegedly murdered her 20-year-old maid after she failed to disclose the man responsible for her three months pregnancy, ZBC reports. According to the report, on the 10th of April, Lucia Pedro of Masona village, Zimbabwe saw her maid, Tazorodzwa Takavada coming from the toilet holding two bottles of chilli and upon asking her, she said she wanted to use it to abort the pregnancy. She demanded to know who was responsible for the pregnancy, the maid refused to tell her. Angry that the maid refused to name the man, the woman took her to the bedroom and started beating her with an electric cable. She then took blankets to sleep with the now deceased after she said she was feeling weak.

The accused is said to have woken up in the early hours the next day only to discover that the maid had died. She informed her sister of the death, and the two went together to Dema Police Station to report the death. Police, who came to the scene noticed some marks on the deceased, leading to the suspect's arrest.

The body of the deceased was taken to Chitungwiza Hospital for postmortem.
