Woman Spends 3 Days With Dead Boyfriend Following Car Crash

A young woman who was critically injured in a car crash in Scotland spent three days waiting with the dead body of her boyfriend for help to arrive, it emerged Thursday. The couple and their car were found by a motorway near the town of Stirling on Wednesday. Doctor who scammed patients by falsely diagnosing cancer jailed for 45 years

A doctor who made millions of dollars by putting more than 500 patients through unnecessary and grueling cancer treatments and then billing insurers has been sentenced to 45 years in prison.

Dr Farid Fata, who worked in suburban Detroit, Michigan, poisoned around 550 victims many of whom did not actually have cancer, by giving them excessive chemotherapy and other treatments.

Buhari and Osinbanjo to take 50% salary cut

As part of his plans to actualise his campaign promise to free funds for the delivery of democracy dividends, President Muhammadu Buhari and the Vice President Professor Yemi Osinbajo have reduced their salaries by 50%.

The current annual salary of the President as published by the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission, RMAFC, is N14,058,820.00 but with the reduction, he will earn N7,029,410 a year or N28,117,640 in four years.
According to a statement by the Senior Special Assistant, SSA, to the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, the letter detailing the presidential decision was delivered by the Permanent  Secretary of the State House, Mr. Nebolisa Emodi.

50 Cent ordered to pay Rick Ross' baby mama $5 Million for sex tape leak

The Manhattan Supreme Court has ordered 50 Cent to pay Lavonia Leviston, Rick Ross' baby mama, $5 million in damages for uploading her sex tape to the internet in 2009.
According to reports, $2.5 million of the sum is for "violating her civil rights for using her image without her permission," and the other $2.5 million is for "intentional infliction of emotional distress." Leviston's lawyer originally sought $20 million total in damages.

A Federal High court sitting in Abuja has granted former Adamawa state governor, Murtala Nyako and his son Abdulazeez bail of N350 million. Both men are standing trial for a N15billion fraud.

EFCC alleges that the former governor and his son along with two others used five companies- Blue Opal Nigeria limited, Serore Farms & Extension Limited, Pagoda Fortunes Limited, Towers Assets Management Limited and Crust Energy Limited which have been traced to the governor to siphon N15 billion belonging to Adamawa state government.

News cases of Ebola disease recorded in Liberia

Two new cases of Ebola virus disease have been recorded in Liberia. The new cases come two weeks after a 17 year old boy died from the deadly viral disease on June 28th. Liberia's deputy incident management system leader Francis Keteh confirmed the new cases and said this brings to five the number of Liberians that have contacted the very contagious disease. He added that 11 high risk cases and 42 low risk cases who had all come in contact with the 17-year-old while he was ill have been quarantined and are beeing closely monitored.

Outrage as Mom's newborn son is taken from her and given to adoptive parent

A new mom has spoken of her horror after her baby son was taken from her home by officials and given to an adoptive mother - despite the fact she had changed her mind before the infant's birth.

Kimberly Rossler, 25, from Mobile, Alabama, decided to contact a local adoption agency after discovering she was pregnant with her 'on-off' boyfriend Greg's baby in October last year.

She reportedly phoned up the non-profit organization, Adoption Rocks, and was put in touch with attorney, Donna Ames, who informed her that she had 'the perfect' mother in mind for her child.

In subsequent days, Kimberly was introduced to the adoptive mother - Katherine 'Kate' Gilliard Sharp, a 'single businesswoman' from Birmingham - and agreed for her to adopt her unborn son.

Man is stabbed to death during a robbery

A security man, identified as Wasiu Okanlawon, has been stabbed to death by armed robbers in the Ile Zik, Ikeja area of Lagos.

It was gathered that Wasiu, who was attacked last Friday at about 9pm, was killed while he and a female colleague were returning home from work. It was gathered that Okanlawon and the colleague, whose name had yet to be ascertained, were going in a commercial bus, when the bus had a flat tyre.

Nigerian Prophet T.B. Joshua has launched a scathing attack against the verdict of the coroner’s court in Lagos yesterday which ruled the tragic collapse of a building within his church last year was due to structural failure.

"The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations rejects the verdict of the coroner on the grounds that it is unreasonable, one-sided and biased,” a statement released via their official Facebook page read, attributed to Barr. Olalekan Ojo, lead counsel to The SCOAN.

5 Persons Confirmed Dead As Hoodlums Turn Ikorodu Market To Battlefield

There was pandemonium at the Allison Market in the Ikorodu Garage area of Lagos State on Monday when some hoodlums, suspected to be cultists, invaded the market and shot sporadically, killing three persons. Not done, the hoodlums went to neighbouring Etunrenren and Ladeja streets, where they clashed with rival cult groups, and killed two more persons. The deceased were identified as Lanre Olayiwola, Owolabi Kuti, and John Ede, while the names of the two others had yet to be ascertained.

When PUNCH Metro visited the area, it was learnt that at about 5pm on Monday, the hoodlums, said to be members of the Eiye and Aiye cult groups, came to a beer parlour, Royal Hall, and shot at three persons, while they were drinking in the bar. It was learnt that two of them died instantly, while the third, who fled the bar, was ambushed in a public primary school by the market, and shot dead. It was gathered that another drinker, identified only as Samson, was shot in the thigh, but escaped from the scene.
