Kidnappers Kill Businessman, Chijioke, After Collecting N15m From His Family

A rich businessman identified as Mr. Chijioke Anyanwuor resident in Ikot Abasi local government area of Akwa Ibom state has been reported killed by suspected kidnappers.

Mr. Anyanwuor a native of Agulu in Anambra state was earlier abducted on February, 25, 2016 in front of his residence about 2:00hours in the morning after returning from a Church programme.

A family source who spoke to newsmen in confidence in Uyo said the kidnappers
numbering over five blocked their victim and whisked him away in his vehicle to unknown destination.

According to Vanguard, it was further learnt that he was later killed and buried in a shallow grave in the forest even after his family paid over N15million ransom to his abductors.

The source said, “But two days after the kidnappers contacted the family and demanded huge sum of money. The money was paid at different times and locations as the kidnappers directed.

"We had expected that they would immediately release Mr. Chijioke after the abductors collected seven million but he was not released. Instead after a very short time interval they demanded for more money and even after N15 million was paid they did not free him."

When his family requested to hear Chijioke’s voice to ensure he was alive after being held in the kidnappers’ custody for weeks little did they (family) know that he had been murdered and buried.

Fortunately, two months after, the kidnappers were tracked down and apprehended by the Department of Security Service (DSS) in collaboration with Security and Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) in the area.

I've Lost Count of People I've Killed - Confessions of a Notorious Cultist and Kidnapper

Tamuno

A suspected cultist and kidnapper shocked newsmen on Friday when he confessed that he had lost count of the number of persons he had killed before his arrest by men of the Rivers State Police Command.

The suspect identified as Mitchel Tamuno, the leader of a cult group, was apprehended by the police in connection with the alleged kidnap on April 14 of a 14-old-old girl. The girl (name withheld) was said to have been raped by her captors, including Mitchel before she eventually escaped from them.

Narrating why he was arrested by the police, Mitchel explained that he was only involved in killing of members of rival cult groups and did not shed “innocent blood”.

Mitchel, who insisted that he could no longer remember the number of persons he had killed, stated that he purchased the four AK 47 rifles used for operation by members of his cult group (Icelander) from one Ifeanyi in Aba, Abia State.

He added that the guns were used to kill some members of rival cult group (Greenlanders) so as to avenge the killing of members of his own group.

Mitche, who promised to go back to his fish farming business if freed, said, “I have never shed innocent blood. We only kill people that come to kill us because we know the people we are fighting. The AK 47 rifles that were recovered belong to us as a group. I bought them from one Mr. Ifeanyi in Aba, Abia State. He sold the first two to us at N250,000 each and the second batch of two for N280,000 each.

“We only have four guns in our possession. We use the guns to fight our opponents. Our opponents are the Greenlanders and we fight for supremacy. I have never killed anybody and cut the head. Those who behead do so because they want the other group to feel the pain.

“When you come, you see your friend dead and without a head, you feel the pain. The fight is not on a daily basis. When we get information about them, we go after them and when they (rival cult group) get information about us, they come after us too. I have lost count of how many people I have killed because they all happened on different occasions.”

A member of the gang, who gets information for the kidnap gang, Godwin Pina, denied being a member of any cult group, but only gave information on how to kidnap the 14-year-old girl. Pina, a 23-year-old labourer, disclosed that the girl that was kidnapped was her neighbour, adding that he became worried when he learnt from the gang members that their victim had escaped.

“They (gang members) called me that the girl had run away. One of my friends, who is at large (Bobo mi) informed me that the girl ran away. I regret my action. Francis, Bobomi and Collins also kidnapped Madam Lizzy. “I am only involved in the kidnap of the girl, but I did not take part in raping her. Mitchel is our number one man in our group,” Pina added while appealing to the police for forgiveness.

Speaking on the arrested men, the State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Ahmad Muhammad, said Pina was arrested while he went to the bank to withdraw the N50,000 their victim’s father paid into their (kidnappers) account. Muhammad explained that Pina was able to give the police information that led to the arrest of Mitchel and other gang members, adding that four AK 47 rifles were recovered in the course of investigation.

He pointed out that the command would not relent in its determination to arrest criminals in the state and bring them to book, adding that the command in the month of April arrested 70 suspected kidnappers, cultists and armed robbers.

Muhammad added that 25 suspects were killed during a shootout with policemen while 11 AK 47 rifles and 17 assorted illicit firearms, 480 different calibres of ammunition were recovered from the suspected criminals.

On how Mitchel’s gang’s victim was able to escape, he said the girl escaped with a ladder she sighted within an uncompleted building where she was held hostage, recalling that four of the kidnappers, who raped her, were fast asleep when the victim escaped.

He said, “She (victim) then followed the sound of vehicles she was hearing from the road and got to the main road, saw a man driving a car, waved the car down and told the driver that she escaped from kidnappers’ den. “She appealed to the driver of the car to help her call her father, who is a pastor in Bayelsa State.

The Good Samaritan called the father of the victim and told him the development and the father directed the man to take her daughter to any nearby police station.

“Before then, the kidnappers had already put a call across to the father of their victim, demanding for ransom of N10m. They equally forwarded an account number detail to the victim’s father.

“One of the kidnapers (Godwin Pina) went to the bank immediately he noticed that the sum of N50,000 had been paid into the account for the upkeep of their victim, pending when the ransom demanded would be raised.

"When the suspected was arrested, he then opened up that their boss, Mitchel, was staying in Okrika. Then the Anti-kidnapping unit moved to Abam in Okrika and arrested Mitchel and 10 other boys in his house. “Two AK 47 rifles were recovered from him.

On interrogation, he (Mitchel) said he had other two AK 47 rifles with one Iyalla Appolos somewhere in Azubokwe. We moved in there and Iyalla was arrested and the two AK 47 rifles were recovered from him,” Muhammad added.

Big Boys, Ogbobe and Okonkwo, Almost Died after Swallowing 137 Wraps of Cocaine

By force big boys, be careful! The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency said two traffickers nearly died when they fell critically ill upon arrival at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

Spokesperson for the agency, Mr. Mitchell Ofoyeju, said luckily for the suspects, when they were rushed to the hospital, 137 wraps of cocaine were successfully evacuated from their stomachs.

Although they are going to prison, the two Enugu big boys, Ogbobe Chidiebere (33), and Okonkwo Nonye (33), who are both from Enugu State, were thankful to the NDLEA for saving their lives.

Chairman of the NDLEA, Muhammad Mustapha Abdallah, said the suspects who were passengers from Sao Paulo, Brazil enroute Dubai are now in a stable health condition.

Chidiebere was quoted as saying, “I thank the NDLEA for taking us to the hospital on time. I know that I made a mistake but I never knew that it could have led to my death. Even though, they will take me to court, I still thank God that I am alive. This has taught me a bitter lesson.”

Abdallah warned that Nigerians should avoid dangerous and criminal acts inimical to their wellbeing.

“Drug ingestion is a very risky act that takes drug traffickers to early graves. The agency will continue to protect lives and enhance public security by ensuring that narcotic drugs are only made available for medical and scientific purposes,” he said.

Three other suspects were also arrested at the airport for drug importation. One of them, Okanimeh Niclopez (33), was arrested with a duty-free bag stocked with 3.3kg of cocaine hidden in chocolate, while the two others, Obeche Emeka (29) and Ikeaba Anthony (31), were caught with 1kg and 1.782kg of cocaine hidden inside socks, respectively.

The agency said they would all be charged to court soon.

Similar incidents, which highlights the extreme risk drug mules or traffickers undertake in transporting narcotics in their bodies, had led to the death of many traffickers in the past.

Shocking! How Tiwa Savage's Hubby, TeeBillz Swindled Gen. IBB's Niece of N45million

Like a sewer rat fleeing the onslaught of an unrelenting charwoman, Tunji Balogun, the troubled husband of Tiwa Savage, is running hither, thither as you read. Now that comeuppance stares him in the face, the dark menace of retribution makes a coward of him.

There is no gainsaying the uncanny resemblance between him and the lead character of Anezi Okoro’s famous novel, One Week, One Trouble. Like the 1972 novel’s character, the dark-hued dude has been hugging negative spokes of the limelight in the past few days.

Consequently, many are beginning to wonder whether he was the same self-effacing, promising dude they had always known.

From allegations of advance-fee fraud to marital infidelity, TeeBillz excites malicious gossip in his wake more often than you could count. Adultery for instance, is a prison-house for TeeBillz – his lust for it however, accentuates its tragic manifestations on his psyche. It’s like a medieval dungeon built in an arena of flickering flames that scorches the body and scalds the eyes.

In the heated pit, flames of desire and untamable wiles flare all around Tunji hence manifesting as one great furnace to him and his marriage. Flames flare around this great furnace yet and from those flames, there is no light, just interminable darkness and moonshine that serves only to discover sights of sorrow and feelings of woe. Very sad!

You couldn’t have forgotten so soon that Tiwa mentioned it in her interview that Tunji collected N45 million from someone and they are currently after him.

TheCapital investigations revealed that Tunji actually collected the money from the last daughter of General Ibrahim Babangida, Halima Babangida’s cousin, Hajara Mustapha, According to an insider, the poor girl who was apparently ignorant of his penchant for mischief, gave N45 million to him on behalf of Etisalat for a show. Immediately he collected the money, he had a rapid dialogue with his legs. He absconded.

We gathered that Halima informed her cousin, Halima and they are threatening fire and brimstone, even as you read, to get the money from Tunji. They have informed EFCC to go after him. Now, he has been running from pillar to post, burrowing like heat-maddened rabbit, from one hutch to the other, in search of a miraculous lifeline and refuge from the reach of the EFCC.‎

However, as the walls of Karma close in on him, TeeBillz has started thrashing about like a bison drowning in a quicksand of wrath and its own stench. He has stopped clutching at straws in the air to sink his nails, like talons, in the hide of perceived detractors.

TeeBillz sinks with his bulk deeper in the marsh of charges levelled against him by his wife and benefactor, Tiwa, every minute. All efforts made to reach him for his side of the story met with a brick wall.

The Six Top Naija Celebrities Marriage Break-Ups

They are celebrities and usually, so much pomp follows their wedding especially for those of them who roll out the drums to have a big ceremony. And when these marriages crumble unexpectedly after a short while, it is also followed with so much scandal, noise and most people, especially those who see them as role models, are left in wonder and amazement.

Saturday Beats beams its focus on some of crashed marriages that shocked Nigerians in recent years:

Tiwa Savage and Tunji Tee-Billz Balogun
Theirs looked like a match made in heaven; at least that was the picture they painted on social media. So beautiful did their love seem that rap artiste, Ice Prince, in his song, That Could Be Us, praised the couple’s love and told his potential girlfriend that their relationship could be like Tiwa and Tunji’s.

However, Nigerians got the shock of their lives about two weeks ago when Tee Billz went on his Instagram page to rant and tell tales of his wife’s alleged infidelity among other things. In retaliation, Tiwa Savage granted a no-hold-barred interview where she claimed that her husband was not only a cheat but was an irresponsible man who stole from her. Some entertainers have pleaded with both parties to let peace reign for the sake of their son, Jamil.

Toyin Aimakhu and Adeniyi Johnson
When the romance between the pair began to brew, many people were skeptical for several reasons. First on the list was the issue of age difference because Toyin is older than Adeniyi.

Some argued that it was an egocentric relationship because it was alleged that Toyin earned more money and seemed like the breadwinner of the family, so most likely she would want her decision to be final and this might not sit well with her husband.

Despite all these odds, the pair tried to prove that love is blind and they proceeded to the altar. Toyin and Adeniyi had a low key traditional wedding in Ibadan in February 2013 and on July 8, 2013, they signed the dotted lines at the Ikoyi registry.

Shortly after they tied the knot, people began to monitor the marriage just to see if their predictions would come to pass and the couple made it easy for them by posting their daily activities online for the public to comment. Sometime in 2015, their marriage had a hiccup but their parents came to the rescue to patch things up.

Later that year, it was announced that their marriage crumbled like a pack of cards. Although they did not give detailed reasons for their marriage failure, Johnson, in an interview once hinted that his marriage crashed because his wife caught him flirting.

In a recent interview, Toyin disclosed that she doubts she would give marriage or love another chance.

Ini Edo and Philip Ehiagwina
Not many knew how the romance began but they certainly knew how it ended. The union between the two was one plagued by various controversies; top on the list was the constant war of words between Phillip’s first ex-wife, Ruth Okoro and the couple.

Despite the storm, the pair was able to sail through together for about six years before they called it quits. The separation was a messy one and some news portals reported that her bride price was returned because she was unfaithful in the marriage. It was alleged that she had an affair with a governor and that did not go down well with Phillip. It was also reported that the marriage broke up because the actress did not conceive a child and the husband’s family was breathing down her neck for a child.

There were claims she was in a relationship with actor Mike Godson, she never confirmed or denied it.

Chika Ike and Tony Eberiri
The duo signed the dotted lines to become man and wife in 2006 and by 2013 another dotted line was signed in an Abuja High Court, but this time, it was to dissolve the marriage. Shortly after the dissolution of the marriage, the actress took a picture of the court paper beaming with smiles and it soon flooded the internet.

In a series of interviews, the actress made it known that the main reason she walked out of her marriage was because she was a victim of domestic violence. The actress claimed that her husband was always beating her and she lost her pregnancy on one of the occasions.

Though she has been linked with one or two men, Chika is not saying more in that area yet.

Funke Akindele and Kenny Oloyede
The marriage between actress Funke Akindele and Kenny Oloyede lasted for months, it was between May 2012 and 2013. The marriage was the talk of town mostly because her hit movie, Jenifa, had endeared her to the hearts of fans and the were so happy that their darling Funke had left the single ladies’ club.

However, some others wagged their tongues that the marriage would pack up soon because she was not the man's first wife, others were optimistic that things would work out if they gave it a shot.

Nevertheless, it came as a rude shock when the marriage collapsed when it did! Nobody saw it coming.

It came as a shock when her camp released the statement to confirm her separation, “We want to formally inform you that after due consultation and consideration, she’s now separated from Mr. Kehinde Oloyede as his wife.”

Subsequently, Oloyede went on his Facebook page to break the news to his followers. He wrote, “It is with a heavy heart that I am announcing the separation of me and my wife, Mrs. Olufunke Akindele, we’ve both agreed to go our separate ways because of irreconcilable difference. We still remain best of friends and we forever remain good friends. I am doing just fine, getting along without you. I don’t need you anymore in my life. You are the greatest mistake I have made in recent times.”

When asked why she quit her marriage, the actress claimed that she was a victim of domestic abuse both emotionally and verbally.

“I was abused emotionally and verbally. Really, I felt we could work things out when the trouble started two months after the marriage, but I made up my mind and shut the door of the marriage at him when the trouble was coming to me too much,” she said.

Princess and Adeshola Jeremiah
Comedienne, Princess, was on top of the world when she was getting married. She was so excited that she even reportedly said, “I am so happy I’m now getting married, I can now proudly wear iro and buba like a Nigerian woman…God bless that young man that picked me and decided to pity me and marry me when I had given up all…I am saying this because I want you all to hear it, God bless him for me...”

But her marriage to Adeshola was probably the shortest in the list as it packed up almost as it took off.

Not much is known about why the marriage broke up but Princess would always pin it down on ‘Irreconcilable differences’.

- One key that I have realized is prayer; either you're married and you want to get married, pray hard.

Female Corper Nabbed with "Igbo" by NDLEA; As She Cries... "I'm Ashamed of Myself"

NYSC is not opportunity for you to do boyfriend and girlfriend or engage in bad gang, it's a period for you to serve and build a reputation for yourself, which will guide your life, moving into the future.

The Sokoto State Command of the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on Friday arrested a female Youth Corps member serving in Zamfara with 9 kilogrammes of Indian hemp.

NDLEA said, “We will charge the lady to court as soon as we are through with our investigation.”

The Commandant of the agency in the state, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, told NAN that the suspect was serving in Gumi area of Zamfara and was arrested along Sokoto-Gusau Road in Sokoto. He said the lady had confessed that she was initiated into the business by a fellow corps member.

He said the suspect had boarded a luxury bus from Onitsha in Anambra to Sokoto, from where she would board another bus to Gumi in Zamfara, when she was arrested at a check point in Sokoto.

The commandant said investigation had already commenced to fish out all those who initiated her and their source of supplies, in order to prosecute them.

The suspect told NAN at the NDLEA Command, Sokoto, that she regretted her action, saying she did not know how her parents would feel about her arrest.

Fani-Kayode Hides Under Bed? As EFCC Storms His House

It was drama galore on Friday afternoon at the residence of former Aviation Minister and spokesman of the Goodluck Jonathan campaign, Femi Fani-Kayode, in Abuja as operatives of the EFCC stormed his home in the city to officially invite him for questioning,  bclems.com gathered.

Fai-Kayode got the biggest amount from the over N2.5billion collected from the Central Bank of Nigeria and shared to those who worked for Jonathan's failed re-election bid in the 2015 election.

Soon after the EFCC delivered a letter to his house, Fani-Kayode noticed that security men were still outside his house, he had thought they were there to arrest him and detain him over the weekend, not knowing that the mobile policemen were simply there to ensure that he doesn't escape.

Some sources say Fani-Kayode panicked, went under his bed and gave instruction that if EFCC broke into the house they should be told that he has gone out, probably through the back door. Funny enough, the security men never went close to his gate again. They left after seeing that no one tried to leave.

OMG! Mother of 2, Ronke, "Beaten To Death" by Her Husband; He's On The Run

Too many men and women are in marriages they are not happy with today, but rather than seek prayers to get to the root of their issues and resolve it or separate in peace, they apply cosmetic approach.

What would make a man kill his wife or a woman kill her husband? Some demonic inspired violence!

The beautiful lady pictured above, Ronke Bewaji Shonde, was found dead yesterday morning at their home at Tiemo Crescent off Awori street in Egbeda area of Lagos, and her husband, Lekan Shonde, is missing.

He is believed to have beaten her to death during a domestic dispute and immediately took off...

A family friend who reported the case said Ronke and Lekan had a fight in the early hours of yesterday as their kids were sleeping. One neighbor later said he heard noise coming from their flat early in the morning but didn’t think it was something serious.

Around 7am, the couple’s nanny came to the house to resume work only to find the house locked and no one was opening the door. She tried to call Ronke but her phone was switched off. She peeped through the window only to find the couple’s 6 and 4 year old kids crying and saying they couldn’t wake their mum up.

Neighbors gathered and forcefully opened the door to find Ronke’s lifeless body on the floor with blood gushing from her head. Lekan was nowhere to be found. Ronke’s phone was also missing. He’d locked the kids with their dead mum in the house and taken off with her phone.

Her body has been deposited at the mortuary. She was in her mid-30s. I hope police will get the man!
