Too Bad! Kenyan Police Officer Brutally Shoots 7 Colleagues Dead (Photos)

A Kenyan police officer went on a shooting spree, killing seven of his colleagues, including a member of hostage response team on Thursday, July 14 at Kapenguria Police Station. One of the officers includes Officer Dennis Momany from Coy Ruiru, who got married few weeks ago. The siege began when the attacker, identified as Abdilhakim Maslah, opened fire on his fellow officers, leading to a hostage situation. Police at first suspected the attacker had ties to the al-Shabab jihadist group.

According to the police, Maslah, a station guard, got off work Wednesday night but returned to the Kapenguria station shortly after 5am on Thursday and started shooting. A separate police statement to the media said the officer, "for yet unknown reasons, went berserk and grabbed a firearm" and started shooting. The statement said the officer wore a "turban that covered his whole face, leading to the previous suspicions" that he was a terrorist.

Earlier, Police Inspector General Joseph Boinnet had said in a statement that commandos had surrounded the police station in an attempt to bring the standoff to an end. "His attempts to escape were thwarted by quick arrival by other officers," Boinnet said. Five police officers, including a senior officer, were among the dead, reports The Nation Kenya, quoting West Pokot County Commissioner Wilson Wanyanga.

KTN Kenya said as many as six officers had died in Kapenguria. Police commandos were deployed to rescue prisoners held at the station and end the standoff, Kenya's police chief, Joseph Boinnet, said before the crisis ended. All but one of the officers killed worked at the station. The station commander was among them, West Pokot County Commissioner Wilson Wanyanga said.

President Uhuru Kenyatta condoles with the families and colleagues of the victims,

"Today, I mourn with the families of the young men who died in Kapenguria defending their nation against a depraved killer, he said in a statement. "We do not know what led the killer to his foul and evil deeds, but Kenyans can be certain that my government's security and investigative agencies will do all within their power to discover what motivated this attack. I celebrate the lives of the young patriots who died defending the law and order we so often take for granted.

In days to come, my government will give their families every support as they come to terms with these tragic events. My family and I pray that God will grant them the grace to bear these losses. Kenya remains strong. This is a country of laws and order, not violence and hatred. We will not allow ourselves to be shaken, or to be divided by the foul deeds of a single man."

Heartbreaking! Epileptic Woman Falls Face Down into Fire (Graphic Photos)

The victim, Grace Nakagulire

The lady pictured above allegedly fell face down into fire last weekend during one of her epileptic attacks. Grace Nakagulire fell facedown into fire after she had one of her attacks when she went to the kitchen unsupervised.

Her cousin who shared the photos said the victim has been suffering epilepsy since she was 3-years-old.

She wrote;

My cousin, Grace Nakagulire has lived with epilepsy since she was three years old. Most of her life, she lived with her mother in the village. She loves to crochet table clothes and chair covers with wool. She has one child.

Last weekend, Nakagulire went unsupervised to the kitchen when tea-water was boiling. She got an epilepsy attack. She fell face-down into the fire and sustained severe burns to her face and hand. A relative found her lying unconcious in the fire. Fearing that the worst had happened, she raised an alarm for help.

Villagers gathered and advised my aunt not to go to hospital, but rather take Nakagulire to a local herbalist in a neighbouring village. The police from Buwama also came to the scene. They asked my aunt for Thirty Thousand Shillings to transport my cousin to Nkozi Hospital.

Upon observing the burns and wounds on my cousin's body, doctors at Nkozi referred her to Mulago Hospital. For Two Hundred Thousand Shillings, an ambulance transferred her to the brand new facility of Mulago Hospital located in Kiruddu, along Salaama Road. I went twice to visit Nakagulire at the hospital. I was very impressed. The spacious lifts work perfectly. The tiled toilets are very clean and they flash.

Hospital admission and medical care are free. Admitted patients get a free warm meal daily. The Intensive Care Unit on fourth floor is devoted to only patients with severe burns and wounds. The staff on day-duty are very kind. They let me in. I saw all sorts of patients: an eleven-months'-old baby with a burnt face and arm, a youth severely burnt by acid, a man burnt inside his house in an arson attack that killed his two children, a builder electrocuted while working on the roof of a house... The staff on night-duty are very strict. They barred me and my kids from entering the ward. Fair enough!

Epilepsy is still real in Uganda. Many Baganda still believe it is a cultural illness which is only treatable using traditional therapies. It is important to address the stigmatisation of people living with epilepsy. Epileptic people can live full whole lives, when they adhere to medical regimes.

Families and carers of people living with epilepsy need our support. In the event of severe burns due to falling into fires, the new Mulago Hospital facility at Kiruddu has got expert staff and services to provide requisite healthcare, even for people with epilepsy. I have observed my cousin improving by leaps and bounds!

Notorious Cultist Tells Nigerian Police: Bullets Can’t Kill Me

A suspected cult leader, Andrew Awalebi, has told operatives of Rapid Response Squad of the Lagos Police Command that no amount of bullets can pierce through his body.

Awalebi, a suspected member of the Eiye Confraternity, reportedly confessed to the police that a charm he got from an herbalist made him to be invincible to bullets.

The 35-year-old suspect was arrested on Friday at a pub in Jakande Estate in the Ajah area of Lagos. He was said to be in company with three other suspected members of his gang when the police swooped on them around 8am.

The RRS operatives, according to Punch, had got information on Awalebi’s movements from a member of the gang, Michael Thompson, who had earlier been arrested for robbery.

Awalebi, in his statement to the police, allegedly said he worked for a popular landowner in the Lekki area, adding that he earned N40,000 monthly for securing the landed property of his boss.

He explained that his protective charm against gunshots was prepared for him by an herbalist in Ijebu-Isiwo, Ogun State, adding that the charm was to save him from gunshots of land grabbers in Lekki.

“I was initiated into the Eiye Confraternity in 1996 by one Banji. Later in 1997, I was promoted as its topmost leader after the death of Banji.
“We were eight members in the cult group. We meet very early in the morning or late at night. I was arrested by the Special Anti-Robbery Squad sometime ago when my cult group caused mayhem in Jakande Estate, inflicting injuries on passersby in the area,” he added.

The indigene of Ilaje area of Ondo State, was reportedly given out by Thompson of the same cult, who was arrested for robbery at the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.

Thompson, in his confessional statement, had allegedly said Awalebi was the leader of the group.

Also arrested with Awalebi were Koffi Kwame (17), Daniel Olayiwola (36) and Tosin Issac (26).

The police claimed that the suspects all confessed to being members of the Eiye Confraternity.
They have been transferred to the Lagos State Department of Criminal Investigation for prosecution.

WHAT A LIFE! See Photo of The Pastor's Wife Killed in Abuja

A 42-year-old preacher and mother of seven, Mrs. Eunice Elisha, was on Saturday morning murdered by some unknown assailants while evangelizing around Gbazango-West area of Kubwa, Abuja.

Eunice was said to have been cut in the neck and also stabbed in the stomach.

Her husband, Pastor Olawale Elisha of the same Redeemed Church had said:
“My wife was so committed to anything that is of God. She was a reckless giver to God’s work; she rarely missed any programs in the church. We have seven children,” he stated. According to him, his wife had no quarrel with anyone that could have warranted her murder, describing her as a martyr.
“I see her as a martyr, and she died for Christ. And whether the people are caught or not, they should forgive them; my prayer is that if they can accept Christ, that will be a gain to Christ.”
I just hope Nigeria police can get on top of this situation and get those who perpetrated this evil.
