Jamyla Bolden was on Tuesday, August 18 fatally shot in her parent's home in Ferguson, St.Louis. Jamyla's devastated father, James Bolden said his daughter was in bed doing homework inside a home in the 9200 block of Ellison when she was shot around 9:30 p.m. Her mother was also shot in the leg, she has since been discharged from the hospital.

A middle-aged man is currently being detained by operatives of Edo State Police Command for allegedly siphoning diesel from a truck belonging to a beverage company located at Ikpoba Hill, in Ikpoba Okha Local Government Area of the State.

It was gathered that the suspect was ‎caught at about 4:00 am on 27 May by a vigilant night guard in the area, who noticed a flow of diesel on the ground close to where the truck was parked. He allegedly traced the flow to the truck where he found the suspect channelling the petroleum product into waiting jerry cans.

3 generations of a family die during the botched delivery of a baby


In a bizarre story that has continued to  baffle investigators and residents of a Lagos community, three generations of a family have died during the delivery of a baby.
It was gathered that on May 7, 2015 Dr. Bosun Owolabi, was called when 34-year-old Edith Ororobi, went into labour to give birth to her first child.
The doctor allegedly ran to the house at Bogije Town in Ibeju-Lekki area of Lagos at about 3am.

Man Set Ablaze By Angry Mob For Stealing Car In Lagos


An alleged car thief was on Wednesday set ablaze by an angry mob after he had been beaten to a pulp. The incident took place at Isikalu Street Junction, Olodi-Apapa in Ajeromi/Ifelodun Local Government Area of Lagos State. Luck ran out on the young man when he was sighted by some residents while he was trying to steal the brain box of a parked vehicle in the area. According to an eye witness, the thief was nabbed around 4p.m and was thoroughly beaten and tied up until 6a.m when other residents woke up and met him at the scene.

A wicked landlady has allegedly set a 22-year-old man identified as Emmanuel, ablaze in the Ajegunle area of Lagos. According to reports, the young man had gone to ease himself in the early hours of Tuesday, leaving his father and sister inside their one-room apartment. His sister, who had waited for his return, went to check on him in the toilet situated at the boys quarters of the building on Alafia Street. She reportedly found her brother on fire on the ground which made her raise an alarm which attracted tenants. The young man was rushed to 2 hospitals which were said to have rejected Emmanuel. He reportedly died before he could get proper help.

I can steal any brand of vehicle- Car robbery suspect


A car thief, Kehinde Oluomo who was recently arrested by the Nigerian Police Force, Kwara State command  said there was no type of vehicle he couldn't break into no matter the brand or how high-tech it was. He said all he needs to break into it and steal it is a piece of wire.
He confessed to having stolen six cars through this means.
The suspect, who said he was from Lagos State, explained that he started car robbery 2 years ago.
According to him, his strategy was to monitor where vehicles were parked, ensured that nobody was watching him and then he broke into the vehicle with the aid of a wire.

ISIS number two man killed in US military drone strikes in Iraq


According to spokesman for the U.S. National Security Council, Ned Price, the second in command of ISIS leadership, Haji Mutazz, who also goes by the name Fadhil Ahmad al-Hayali, was killed in an August 18th US drone strike near Mosul, Iraq. The number two man, was said to be traveling in a car with another ISIS member named Abu Abdullah when their vehicle was hit.

Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh says Mikel Obi refused to pick his call in London


Chelsea midfielder Mikel Obi was not invited by the new Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh to play in the forthcoming 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Tanzania. Asked why Mikel was left out of his list, Oliseh said he called Mikel several times but he never responded or called him back

Pastor Mathew Asuquo, a resident of Ajegunle community in Lagos state has petitioned the Lagos state police command over the repeated attack on his family by one of his neighbors named Jane Osasa. Pastor Asuquo in his petition alleged that Jane had repeatedly attacked his family and nothing had been done to get her arrested even when he reported the case to the Ajeromi police station.

A new twist has emerged in relation to the 18-man list of foreign based Super Eagles players that were invited by coach Sunday Oliseh.

One of the main surprises was the exclusion of Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel and Oliseh today, Thursday,  August 19 revealed that the player ignore his invitation which was why he left him out the squad.

Pakistan to hang disable convict from his wheelchair


A paraplegic man is facing the prospect of being hanged by prison officials in Pakistan from his wheelchair as he is unable to mount the scaffold. Abdul Basit, 43, was convicted of murder in 2009 but developed tuberculosis one year later, leaving him paralysed from the waist down.
A "Black Warrant" was issued for his execution on July 29 but appeals from Basit's legal team led to a stay of execution.
They now await a final hearing on August 25 which will decide whether to go ahead with the procedure.
It means that prison officials are grappling with the conundrum of how much rope is required to hang a man who cannot support his own body weight.

Reduce number of policemen attached to VIPs - Buhari tells IGP


President Buhari has ordered the Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase to reduce the number of police officers attached to Very Important Personalities in Nigeria.

According to a statement by the Special Assistant to the Presient on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, President Buhari gave the directive at a meeting with officials of the Ministry of Police Affairs and the Police Service Commission in the Presidential Villa today August 20th.

Peter Moi was yesterday, August 19th, shot dead near the offices of The New Nation newspaper in Juba where he worked. The incident comes three days after South Sudanese President, Salva Kiir made a comment on Sunday threatening to kill journalists for reporting 'against the country.'
