Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has claimed that his team could still finish this season without winning the Premier League title.

City are currently 15 points clear at the top of the table and appear to be cruising to the title, having won 20 of their 22 matches so far.

Guardiola’s men are also unbeaten ahead of Sunday’s away trip to Liverpool.

“In football and in sport, anything can happen.

“Of course we can lose the title because you never know what is going to happen in the next 13 or 14 games you have to play. Of course, if we maintain our level, the consistency and the way we play, then OK, we have a chance. But you never know.

“If we start to go down, and lose confidence, and don’t play well regularly, then we will see. Maybe that is going to happen, and I am going to shake the hand of my opponents and congratulate them for being champions.

“But it is simple – just focus on the next game. That is the best advice I can give to my players,” he said.

OMG! 210 Persons Killed, Many Injured In Ogun Road Accidents (Read)

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun said on Saturday said that 210 persons lost their lives with several others injured in various auto crashes across the state in 2017.

FRSC Sector Commander in the state, Mr Clement Oladele, made the disclosure in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abeokuta.

Oladele, who stated that 365 crashes were recorded in the state during the period, explained that the figure had reduced compared to 270 deaths in 386 crashes recorded in 2016.

According to the sector commander, a greater percentage of the accidents were due to speeding, break failure, usage of mobile phone while driving, wrongful overtaking and tyre burst.

He noted that the the rate of road traffic crashes had reduced by 4.7 per cent during the period compared to previous year.

“The FRSC will continue to intensify effort at sensitising motorists at different motor parks on safe driving and dangers involved in not obeying traffic rules and regulations.

“Road safety is a collective responsibility of all and sundry,’’ he said.

The FRSC boss, however, advised motorists to be cautious and avoid traveling when visibility is blurred.

A 38-year-old Rotimi Abomini, fond of enticing young girls with foodstuffs in order to rape them has been arrested.

The suspect ran out of luck on Saturday after he was caught carrying 11-year-old child, whose name was not disclosed, out the window of his room.

Narrating the incident, the minor told police that Abomini convinced her nobody would know, and revealed that he has been having sex with another 11-year-old girl in the neighbourhood simply called Elizabeth, who is Esther’s friend.

The primary six pupil, disclosed that the suspect used to give her and her friend gifts like N50 sachet custard and milk on many occasions.

“That Monday, Uncle Rotimi called me to come to his room. I wanted to go with my friend Elizabeth but I couldn’t find her so I went alone.

“He gave me custard and milk and told me he wants me to have sex with him. He said that no one would know. He also told me that he has had sex with other little girls before me.

“He then started to put his finger in my private part and then brought out his penis before someone now saw us from the window and raised alarm.”

Residents of Coconut Street in Ebute-Ilaje, Bariga area of Lagos metropolis handed him over to Bariga police station.

The case was reported to Comrade Toyin Okanlawon, coordinator of the Child Protection Network (CPN), in Shomolu and Bariga axis. Together with few other civilians, he led the arrest of the suspect, who was handed over to policemen at Bariga Police Station.

Okanlawon decried the spate of rape cases of young girls in the area.

“The JWC officer has moved to transfer the case to the state police headquarters.

“Mr. Abomini is another case of a serial paedophile that took advantage of the innocence and the vulnerability of the under aged girls to sexually abuse them.

“Both Esther and Elizabeth are only 11-year-old girls and the suspect lures them with other girls in the neighborhood with mere custard and milk. He has been begging the girl’s mother to forgive him. But only God knows how long he has been doing this.”

A domestic violence victim, Rosalyn, has cried out for help after the last bashing from her husband.

She shared her story via a Facebook user’s page, telling how she met and married the man and how things began to collapse in her marriage.

Good day, my name is Rosalyn.from Benue state I need help so I don’t take my life. Because that seem to be the only option now. I got married in court at the age of 19 because I was pregnant and because I didn’t want to bring shame to my parents, I got married and it has been the worst decision I ever made.

Chris Brown could spend up to six months in jail after his pet monkey Fiji was seized because he didn’t have a permit to keep her.

The Loyal hitmaker could face up to six months behind bars after he was slapped with a misdemeanour charge for keeping the primate – named Fiji – at his home in California without obtaining a Restricted Species Permit from California Fish and Wildlife.

The 28-year-old singer landed himself in hot water in December when he shared a video clip on his Instagram account of his three-year-old daughter Royalty with Fiji.

Speaking in the sweet clip, he asked his little girl: “Is this your baby?” He added: “She’s going to be bigger than you, right. Y’all got the same size head.”

Within 36 hours of him posting the footage, California Fish and Wildlife received “a dozen or so tips on the incident” and executed a search warrant on January 2.

The city’s wildlife department’s employee Captain Patrick Foy has said that Chris was not at home when the search on his home in Los Angeles was carried out but his staff handed the primate over to the authorities and he agreed to co-operate with them.

The case will be forwarded to the Los Angeles City Attorney for the next step of the process but a spokeswoman has confirmed the report has not be turned in yet.

She added to the New York Post newspaper: “There’s no information at this time.”

According to TMZ, Chris could be charged with “having a restricted species without a permit” because it is illegal to own a monkey in California without obtaining a permit.

However, the ‘Privacy’ hitmaker’s lawyer Mark Geragos told E! News: “We are confident that the City Attorney has more pressing problems than monkey business.” Fiji is currently being cared for at an undisclosed facility.
