Brilliant 16-year-old Boy Rejects N1.9 Billion Offer from US investors to Buy His Money-Saving Website (Photos)

Mohammed Ali

A 16-year-old whizz kid has rejected a whopping £5million from US investors who offered to buy his money-saving website.

According to Sun UK, Mohammed Ali, 16, from Dewsbury, Yorkshire, has earned more than £40,000 after creating his own financial app for the stock market and a popular video game. And now the teenager is set to launch a price comparison site with 60-year-old business partner Chris Thorpe.

While there are many price comparison websites out there, Mohammed claims their site will be unrivalled – something investors may agree with him on.

The pair recently met a group of Americans in London to discuss an investment, who then offered “more than £5million” for the company.

Mohammed said: “We met the investors in London, they were a global data driven company, and they didn’t realise I created all the technology involved. “The offer was rejected in December, just before Christmas.

“The main reason we rejected the offer was because, if the technology and concept is worth millions already, just think how much it will be worth once people use it. “I understand this is a big risk for me but I want to create this as a household name, and at the same time make something for myself.

“The big thing about what we’re doing is that there are no competitors – this is a real time money saving expert – it’s like a Bloomberg for the general public.”

His latest venture – weneed1.com – has seen the tech-mad teen develop an algorithm “which provides real time quotes instead of the normal pre-fixed quotes you find on insurance sites”. It is designed to alert both buyers and sellers of available products. This can include properties and electronic items with prices being constantly updated.

The website is set to be launched on January 28 and he hopes its success will inspire more young people to get involved in tech ventures at a young age.

Mohammed has previously seen success with Project 2006, a video game which had a £5.99 per month subscription cost and made £30,000.

Mohammed, who still lives with his parents and siblings, said he became interested in computers from a young age. He even taught himself how to code just by reading books and watching YouTube videos.

Mohammed said: “Right now I work from the bedroom day and night but we’re launching this globally so we will need to travel more. “My mum used to hate me going on the computer all the time but I think she’s proud of what I’m doing now and my brother has been inspired by what I’m doing.

“I have learned everything from watching videos and books – there’s not much being done in schools and the education system is a bit messed up. “Anyone can revise for exams but I don’t think enough is being done to prepare people for getting out in the real world.

“I want other people to be inspired and I want to inspire young people to develop a work ethic – it disgusts me when you see young people just getting drunk on a Friday night.”

The teenager is still keeping up with school work however. As a sixth form student he is studying for English, geography and law A-levels.

He says his most extravagant purchase so far has been contributing £1,400 towards refurbishing his parents living room and tries to act wisely with his cash. Ali estimates he has earned around £41,000 from his businesses.

He said: “If I see some clothes or trainers I like I’ll buy them but most of my money is saved. “I look at the things I make as inventions and I like to be proud of building them up.

“People think you need to have a massive investment or to take out loans but you don’t – you can start small and build it up.”

Disclosing that a complete “rebuilding of the airport” will be done during the six weeks of closure, Amaechi said, “We are not going back on closure of Abuja airport. I understand that ‎Lufthansa landed and its gear got damaged and it has been here for three days.

“The runaway was built to last for 20 years but it has been in use now for 34 years. “We cannot do it only at night. We don’t want to lose anybody.

“Stop Lying To Nigerians About Pres. Buhari’s Health” – Junaid Tells Presidency

Second Republic lawmaker, Dr. Junaid Mohammed, has lashed out at the Presidency saying they should stop lying to Nigerians over the health status of President Muhammadu Buhari.

He said Nigerians can’t afford to have another constitutional crises due to Mr. President’s health.

The Presidential spokesperson, Garba Shehu had attacked Mohammed on Monday saying he is suffering from pathological cynicism.

According to Shehu, “Mohammed’s kind of critics is toxic to national progress because they are only primarily interested in destroying every positive effort and achievements of the government and we advise Nigerians to be wary of prejudiced and biased critics like Dr. Junaid Mohammed who are more interested in personal publicity than respecting facts and figures about their claims”.

But reacting to Shehu’s statement, Mohammed said the Presidential spokesperson should stop telling Nigerians lies about Buhari’s health.

His words, “I believe Shehu is under pressure which is why he attacked me. However, I believe strongly they need to stop lying to Nigerians about Mr President's health. Can they actually tell what this medical leave or routine check-up is? They don’t seem to be telling us the truth”.

He maintained he has been President Buhari’s friend since when he was a second lieutenant in the Army, but that he cannot shy away from telling the President the truth anytime he misfires.

He said, “If I am to comment on issues that concern Nigerians, I won’t shy away from telling President Buhari the home truth anywhere he is making mistakes. I criticized General Abacha as Head of State and told him some truths in private and sometimes face to face. I believe if people can challenge their friends in power, it shows they are not intimidated by the powerful.

“If Aisha Buhari can say what she said about her husband, I think the President needs to check himself and retrace his steps on some issues that concerns the country. I think the question the President needs to ask himself is that after one he has taken over the reigns of power, what has changed? Is Nigeria better off than when he took over on May 29, 2015? The truth is that Nigeria is worse off today than when Buhari took over the reigns of power.

'Every Nigerian today is worse off and nothing seems to be working under this government. Some who are rich in 2015 cannot say same today due to the economic woes that Nigeria is presently experiencing and we cannot continue to close our eyes off it”.

Marriage Ceremony Ends in Serious Fight After Groom Beats Up Master of Ceremony for Refusing to Play 'Worldly Songs' (Photo)

The groom walks away with his bride after the serious fight

A marriage ceremony ended in a bad note after a groom identified as Bhekinkosi Bhebhe was disgraced for bashing the Master of Ceremony (MC) who refused to play his worldly music at a Seventh Day Adventist church, wedding in Bulawayo area of Zimbabwe.

The family of the groom were forced to withhold all gifts ‘until he apologises’ to the people he disrespected when he turned his own wedding upside down and beat up an MC who also happened to be a local church pastor, Mr Miller Dube.

According to B-metro, Dube is a Seventh-Day Adventist (SDA) church pastor who was hired by the Bhebhe’s family to help with the wedding.

According to reports, Dube’s job was supposed to end after the two tied the knot, but he insisted on carrying out the duties all the way to the wedding reception where everything turned nasty.

The MC allegedly refused the wedding party a chance to dance and insisted that their worldly songs were not to be played during the service.

It is also said that Dube went on to call Bhebhe, “Bhekisathane” instead of Bhekinkosi saying that his actions of insisting on dancing at his wedding represented the devil’s ways and therefore replacing the “nkosi” part of his name with “sathane (devil)”.

Bhebhe was not happy with the statements and he then flew into rage and attacked the MC with clenched fists turning a peaceful wedding ceremony into a boxing match.
