The duo were paraded alongside four other suspected kidnappers, all between the ages of 16 and 25 years, accused of terrorising residents of Nkwere LGA of Imo State.
The Director, Department of State Security Services (DSS), Francis Ejiofor, who paraded the suspects when the state Governor, Rochas Okorocha, paid a visit to the Command’s headquarters in Owerri, said the six suspects were arrested following a tip off.
The other suspects are Suleman Samaila, a gatekeeper from Niger Republic, Chinedu Joseph alias Topic from Abia State, Anayo and Michael Uzochukwu. Ejiofor also told the governor that a victim, Nnawike Chilaka from Nkwerre LGA, who had been held captive by the suspects for five days, was rescued.
Governor Okorocha said his government is ready to deal with crime in the state.
“But let me again warn all criminals, all kidnappers to get out of Imo State because this is not a place for you,” he said. “We are ready for you.”
He recalled that the entire state was traumatised by the activities of kidnappers and criminals until his administration took appropriate steps.
Both Madu and Kenneth denied being members of the gang.
