Hero lifesaver Kone saves goalkeeper from choking to death
Bohemians goalkeeper, Martin Berkovec has Slovacko striker, Francis Kone, to thank for saving his life after a horror collision when the sides clashed in Czech Republic’s 1. Liga football match.
The keeper had come to the edge of his box to collect a long through pass but defender Daniel Krch crashed into him, leaving the shot-stopper unconscious on his back and swallowing his own tongue. Kone, however, showed lightning-fast reactions to recognise the trouble his opponent was in, racing across to ensure the goalkeeper could breath.
After the match, which finished 0-0 on Saturday, Berkovec expressed his gratitude to the Togo international forward via his Facebook account: “I would like to thank Francis Kone for rescue at today’s game… I’m glad for the help and thanks again!!!”
Reports suggest the 28-year-old will make a full recovery.
