A crash involving a commercial bus and a Toyota Camry in the Orile area of Lagos State has claimed the life of a conductor.
In another accident which happened at the Oworonshoki end of the Third Mainland Bridge, eight persons were injured after a Toyota Hiace and a trailer collided.
PUNCH Metro learnt that the commercial bus, a Volkswagen Vanagon with number plate LRS 125 XP, was heading towards Orile around 2pm on Sunday when the driver lost control of the vehicle.
The bus was said to have rammed into the Toyota Camry from behind during which the conductor, who was reportedly hanging on to the vehicle’s door, was crushed.
Policemen from the Orile division were said to have rushed him to a private hospital in the area, where he gave up the ghost.
An eyewitness, Kolapo Philip, told a correspondent that apart from the fatality, no injury was recorded in the crash.
He said,  I think the brakes of the bus failed. The driver tried unsuccessfully to stop the vehicle; it was in the process that he rammed it into the Toyota car, which was badly damaged.
The bus conductor was hanging on to the door. His body was smashed against the car during the collision. I learnt that he died at El-Shaddai Hospital on Coker Street, Orile. None of the two drivers and the passengers on the bus was injured.
