A vigilante member identified as by name Kingsley was shot at close range at Laboured Road Junction axis of Sapele, Delta State while trailing perceived armed robbers some days ago at about 3:15 am.
According to reports, the security operative who survived the gunshot – was rushed to the hospital and after a proper medical diagnosis, it was observed that the bullet affected his intestine.
Report has it that the Chairman, Sapele Local Government Area, who doubles as both the local government chairman and the Chief Security Officer of Sapele, is yet to respond to request to fund the treatment of the vigilante member who almost died while protecting his community.
The man is currently being treated at an undisclosed hospital.
