The first ever transgender contestant will be hoping to be crowned Brazil’s best bum in the annual Miss BumBum competition.
Paula Oliveira will be one of 26 women battling for this year’s title in the contest, which first started in 2011. The 27-year-old was born male and was named Vinicius Oliveira – she had her gender reassignment surgery six years ago.
According to TMZ , the former Big Brother Brazil star had to wait two years for her legal paperwork to come through which identified her as a woman named Paula.
The public health system in the country first started providing free gender reassignment operations in 2007 after a court order was introduced.
