Iyaloja of Ijebu Ode assassinated

The Iyaloja-General of Ijebuland, Alhaja Sadia Elewuju has been assassinated. She was 82 years old. Six men reportedly stormed her home in Ijebu Ode Ogun state at about 3pm yesterday July 8th and shot her at close range. Then they proceeded to cut her body with a machete.

 

Family sources say the octogenarian died while she was being rushed to the hospital. Alhaja Elewuju was a very active and outspoken woman on issues about politics in the state.

R. Kelly sued by his older brother for not paying his salary

According to TMZ  R. Kelly's brother Bruce Kelly is suing him because he hasn't been paid in over 3 months. Read report below...

45-year old Lawrence Agbe (pictured above) was yesterday July 7th arrested by security officials at the Muritala Mohammed International Airport Ikeja Lagos while trying to transport fake dollar bills totaling $2.1 million from Lagos to Abuja. 

While speaking on the arrest, the Commissioner of Police for the command, Mr. Fredrick Lakanu, said during interrogation Lawrence said the fake dollar bills were owned by one Steve.

28-Year-Old Man Sentenced To 3 Months In Prison For Stealing Under Wears

A Kado Grade 1 Area Court, Abuja, on Tuesday, sentenced a-28-year-old salesman, Vershima David, to three months jail term for theft of under wear. The convict, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to the one-count charge levelled against him. The Judge, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq, said that the sentence would serve as deterrent to other potential offenders. Sadiq, however, gave the convict an option to pay N10,000 fine. The judge also ordered that the convict must pay N185,000 compensation to the complainant.

SAD! Girl Dies After Wrong Blood Transfusion

A Saudi girl has died after getting wrong blood group transfusion performed at King Abdullah Hospital in Saudi Arabia. The parents of the girls accused the hospital for negligence, and urged the health ministry to take actions against those who were responsible for the death of their daughter. Hamdan Al Ghamedi, the official spokesperson for Besha Health Authority said that they have formed a committee to look into the case, and start immediate investigations. He pointed out that the victim was suffering from anemia, and assured that there was no mistake in giving her a wrong blood group transfusion. He added that they will announce the results of the investigations soon.

I Stole My Friend's Certificate To Become A 'Doctor' 10 Years Ago - Suspect

The Police on Tuesday in Abuja paraded an alleged fake medical doctor, Martins Ugwu Okpe, who has been working in the federal ministry of health for the past nine years. He was using the name Judge Davidson Daniel. Trouble started when Okpe started behaving in an unprofessional way while claiming some of his colleagues were conducting themselves unprofessionally, which was later discovered to be false. His colleagues thereafter petitioned the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN ), where it was discovered that there was a doctor registered with the MDCN with the name Judge Davidson Daniel, but he was working in another hospital in Jos.
