A teacher was arrested after allegedly watching gay porn on his mobile phone in class in full view of pupils. Vadi Velez-Gonzalez, 47, was teaching a class of 14 and 15-year-olds when a female student is believed to have caught him in the act. According to local news station WFTS, the girl came up to his desk to ask a question and noticed he was looking at gay porn on his phone. The schoolgirl told police she was so stunned, she returned to his desk pretending to throw something in the bin just to check what she thought she had seen. When she confirmed what she had allegedly witnessed, she filmed Velez-Gonzalez on her mobile phone. The footage quickly spread through the school via the Snapchat social media app which in turn came to the attention of police.
Velez-Gonzalez, an intensive reading teacher at Mulberry High School in Polk County, Florida, was later arrested. He has been charged with four counts of showing obscene materials to minors and four counts of using his cell phone to commit a felony. The teacher had allegedly visited the same gay porn and hookup site 383 times in a fortnight, police said.
