A 45-year-old farmer and hunter, Mr. Monday Nwadei, has been reportedly killed by Fulani herdsmen at Ossissa community, Ndokwa East Local Government Area, Delta State.
It was gathered the victim was riding on a motorcycle on his way from his plantain farm when he was allegedly shot dead by the herdsmen who resumed attacks in the area over the weekend.
Vanguard sources said Nwadei had unknowingly passed through a hideout where the herdsmen were holding hostage, an abducted lawyer and one other kidnap victim when he met with his untimely death.
Similarly, suspected herdsmen had on Friday, June 17, launched a deadly attack in Logo local government area of Benue State, killing about 10 persons and displacing scores of farmers.
It was gathered that the attacks occurred in Dusa and Jun villages of Turan council wards. Also, the assailants attacked the Gabo community in Nenzev ward, shot and killed persons including a community leader, women and children.
