COSON Song Awards Holds on Nov. 5 at Eko Hotel & Suites

The climax event of the 2017 COSON Week, the COSON Song Awards, which was initially advertised to hold at the Federal Palace Hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos will now hold on the same date and at the same time at Eko Hotel & Suites in Victoria Island. The change in venue was announced by COSON Chairman, Chief Tony Okoroji on Monday, October 30 at the COSON Lecture held at Four Points by Sheraton, Victoria Island.

Chief Okoroji assured all those who have been issued the special passport to the COSON Song Awards, that their passports remain valid at Eko Hotel and Suites.

By this announcement, the nation’s glitterati and paparazzi will this Sunday, November 5, be on parade at the Grand Ballroom of Eko Hotel & Suites. They will have their special COSON Song Awards passports stamped with a visa by the special immigration officers at the venue and be admitted to take part in the Awards’ ‘Red Carpet Fantastico’ which begins at 5.00 pm and thereafter, the will enjoy the show of all shows.

Apart from the competitive awards whose nominees have since been made public, at the COSON Song Awards, the music industry and all lovers of music will stand up to celebrate the anthem of Lagos, ‘Eko Gbagbere’, a song that will never die and the industry will also celebrate the creative genius behind the song, the octogenarian Chris Ajilo.

Also at the 2017 Song Awards, the music industry and music fans will celebrate the song that once infected Nigerians with a ‘virus’ that appeared to have no cure.

Probably no song in the history of the Nigerian nation has caused more commotion on the dance floor than ‘Ijo Shina’, the iconic song that came with its own unique dance steps, got Nigerians rocking like mad and began the spread of the disease known as Shinamania.

On the stage of the COSON Song Awards on November 5, ‘Ijo Shina’ will be celebrated alongside the unrivalled songwriter and performer behind the song, Sir Shina Peters.

Also to be honoured with Posthumous Awards on November 5 are two of Nigeria’s most prolific songwriters of all times, the unbeatable king of Highlife, Osita Osadebe and the musical genius that thrilled the nation with his one string instrument, Dan Maraya Jos.

To attend the COSON Song Awards, you must be in possession of the awards special passport. There are no gate fees and no tables are on sale. The COSON Song Awards is strictly, strictly and strictly, by invitation. As everyone now knows, the only way to describe the COSON Song Awards is wow!
