Late Alhaji Faruk Jauro
Successful businessman and Adamawa State's foremost politician, Alhaji Faruk Jauro has died, his family reports.
Sanusi Faruk Jauro, former majority leader, Adamawa State House of Assembly and the eldest son of the successful businessman Alhaji Faruk Jauro broke the news of his father's death.
Late Faruk Jauro who was born in 1938 at Dawo district in Toungo local government of Adamawa State died at the age of 77.
He attended both primary and secondary schools in Toungo and Jada respectively and later worked with the Ministry of Agriculture in the then North Eastern State for more than 20 years before he voluntarily retired from active service in 1975.
Jauro then ventured into business in 1976 and later joined politics where he contributed immensely to the development of the area, making his popularity to soar just as he became one of the most sought-after politicians in the state.
He served as the Great Nigeria People’s Party (GNPP) chairman of Ganye local government between 1979 and 1983. He also rose to lead the National Republican Convention (NRC) and All People’s Party (APP) respectively as state chairman during his active days in politics.
He is survived by four wives, 33 children and 29 grandchildren.
