Oh No! Couple Die Side-By-Side In Tragic Car Crash Five Days After Getting Engaged

A couple has died side-by-side in tragic car crash described as very horrific. The tragic accident happened just five days after they got engaged. The promising young future of Kirsty Belsham, 22 and Alex Wilson, 23, was tragically cut short less than a week after the proposal. The deceased couple left behind two children - Lacey May, aged five, and Tyler James, four. Ms Belsham’s Fiat Punto came off at a notorious accident blackspot in Euxton, near Chorley, Lancashire, and smashed into a ditch, leaving them with catastrophic head injuries. According to a report by 'The Express', the long-term lovers had just recently re-sparked their romance after a short split and vowed to spend the rest of their lives together. Mr Wilson, who had hoped to set up his own flooring business, proposed to Ms Belsham on Saturday, March 19 at his home.

Friends of the couple have since started to collect donations for a trust fund for their children. They set a target of £2,000 and £3,305 had already been raised so far. The fiance's grandmother, Elspbeth, with whom he lived, described her heartbreak as she paid tribute to the "wonderful young father".

She said: “He had grown into a young man we were very proud of. “She was bubbly, she was giggly. She was obviously full of her kids, she would have done anything for them. “They were happier than they had been in years. It was a joy to see them. “They were a young couple and they had a lightness and brightness and playfulness about them. “They were a lovely family together. I was so happy that he and Kirsty had got back together. “The happiness was shortlived, but I have to console myself that they were so happy together before this happened and they went together and they are together forever now.”

A local police spokesman said: “We got a call just after 11pm from a passing motorist reporting a car in a ditch near the Plough public house. “Patrols attended and found the vehicle. Sadly, the two occupants were pronounced dead at the scene."

The community was reeling in shock over the sudden tragedy. The family and friends of the family are still in shock.
