A grandmother was arrested on a charge of murder after allegedly killing her grandson because her teenage daughter was too young to be a mother, police in Ghana said. Cape Coast police said that they have arrested 35-year-old Grace Amoah, also known as Esi Yeboaba, after being accused of killing the 3-week-old son of 17-year-old Joyce Amoah. Grace was charged with one count of murder. She was booked into jail, and denied bail. According to the police investigation, the grandmother, mother and son lived in the same home.
Around 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Joyce woke up and noticed that her baby had disappeared. Grace was asked about the whereabouts of the baby, but she denied knowing anything about him. Joyce quickly called the police, who arrested the grandmother on suspicion of murder. Grace eventually admitted to burying the baby after finding him dead in his crib. She also said that her Joyce is too young to be a mother.
