Abubakar Attahiru has been trending on Facebook after a final post he made two days ago shortly before his death went viral. Attahiru who lived in Abuja, posted a Facebook update on May 17, asking his friends to pray for him as he prepares for an appendix surgery. Sadly, the surgery wasn't successful. He died on the same day. Friends and sympathizers who are shocked about his demise, have thronged his page to bid him farewell. Continue after the cut.
The man was buried in Abuja at about 4:30pm on Wednesday. Attahiru was a devout Muslim who, according to his Facebook profile, could speak Arabic, Hausa and English. Attahiru described himself as “Easy going person….but don’t dare take me for granted, okay?” His favourite quotes are:
§ “Your worst enemy could be your best friend”;
§ “Who talk of others to you, talk of you to others”;
§ “The destruction of the World is Vanity”; and
§ “When u Educate a Woman, U hav Educated the whole Society (sic)”.
He his survived by a grieving family, including a very young son (names withheld).
