Baby abandoned by the road on Lagos/Abeokuta expressway

According to a Facebook user, this baby was abandoned by the road side on the Lagos - Abeokuta expressway yesterday. But why not take your baby to motherless babies home, where you can trace him or her in future, rather than do this?
