Toddler Stabbed With Needle Filled With Heroin On Back Seat Of Bus

A three-year-old girl was stabbed with a needle filled with heroin after sitting down on the back seat of a bus. Alysha Zambra was rushed to hospital and now faces a nervous wait for blood test results after the incident. The youngster got on a bus with her mother in Dublin and sat down only to be stabbed by the needle. Terrified mother Stacie turned to see her child crying and her finger bleeding. Stacie said she was heartbroken her little girl had to be rushed to hospital. The family is now nervously awaiting the blood tests which will reveal whether or not the young girl contracted a disease from the needle.

Stacie said: "We always go and sit at the back. I go in the middle and the kids sit either side of me. "I just glanced out the window and then I turned to see Alysha's finger was pumping with blood and I saw the needle on the ground. "I just started screaming for help. It must have been fate because five inspectors were at the next stop. "The ambulance was called and everything.
The child was brought to Crumlin Children's Hospital and a number of checks were performed before she was released. Stacie added "She was distraught. We brought her to Crumlin straight away and the doctors took bloods off to be tested. "We have to wait and see for the HIV tests to come back. But to know that my daughter put the finger on something that was stuck into someone's vein makes me sick. "No parent should ever have to go through this. This country is ruined by heroin.
"You pay your money to go on the bus and you shouldn't be expected to scan for filthy needles. It just makes me sick. "This is what it's like now. You can't go anywhere in this city without checking for a needle. "When I saw the colour of what was in the needle, I nearly passed out. It was like everything flashed in front of me. All I remember is saying 'I need help for my baby. My baby needs an ambulance'. "It's the worst thing.
"But I have to say the people around me were very supportive and I'd like to say thank you to all of them. "The bus driver was brilliant as well. He was trying to calm me down and he called the ambulance which was down in like 15 minutes. "It was a terrible thing but the support I got was brilliant. This is the country we live in."
Dublin Bus confirmed to the Irish Mirror that they are investigating the claims. A spokeswoman said: "Our Operations control will have to investigate what happened. We will need more time to find out what exactly happened."
Stacie added that Alysha is back at home but is extremely shook up by the incident.
