A 28-year-old female teacher has found herself in trouble with the law after she spent the night with a male student who is under-aged in her hotel room after a night of prom. The teacher, identified as Rebecca Lacey was"over-familiar" with the student all night and later invited him back to stay with her. The Sun reports that she even dropped the teen off, known as "Pupil A" for legal reasons, near his home the following morning so he could walk back, a professional panel heard.
Other teachers saw the 28-year-old spending one-on-one time with pupils on multiple occasions including "Pupil A", who was a member of her class. It was also gathered that the former ICT teacher at Downend School, Bristol, also allowed the "vulnerable" teenager and other students to hug her goodbye after the prom on June 26 2014.
She was seen dancing with the 15 and 16-year-olds throughout the night and photos show pupils with their hands around her waist, the panel heard. Lacey, whose social network states: she likes "guys with tattoos and piercings" because "something about them turns her on", admitted inviting the student to her hotel room as she was concerned for his "safety and well being".
She claims other pupils encouraged the youngster to drink alcohol and take drugs after the prom and was worried about his state of mind as they spent the night talking about "family problems" he was "anxious"classmates would find out about.
