Teenager Confesses To Stabbing Boyfriend To Death In Facebook Post

The San Bernardino police are searching for an 18-year-old girl in connection with the stabbing to death of a man during a dispute. The Facebook page of Nakasia James reveals a post as late as Monday afternoon stating, “I love always love Dorian Brent tyrome powell.” This posts came after a longer post that said the stabbing was an accident and alleged that her boyfriend, Dorian Powell, 21, of San Bernardino, had struck her prior to the fatal attack early Monday morning inside apartment 92 at the Highland Club Apartments, 2085 North Central Avenue.

On checking Nakasia James’ Facebook page, it was observed that both posts have been removed.

“We was really fightn and I gt the knife and stabbed him,” the post states, adding that she didn’t think she would hurt him but, “I did, he died.” 

However, police say they have not determined the authenticity of the social media posts but say they’re investigating the claim. The first post after the stabbing acknowledged the police were searching for James. According to the San Bernardino Police Department, officers had responded to a call around 2:30 a.m. about a man possibly being stabbed by his girlfriend in the 2000 block of North Central Avenue. The authorities are also investigating a Monday night shooting at the same apartment. 

Residents say the shooting was in retaliation to Powell’s slaying, but police have yet to confirm it. “We did have a shots fired call, and I believe it was in the victim’s apartment,” Lt. Rich Lawhead said in an email. “However there is nothing that confirms it was retaliation or as a result of anything related to the homicide.”  

The Apartment Manager, Melissa De Los Santos, says the gun shots heard was in retaliation of the stabbing. She said: “I was talking to the mother and brother of the suspect five minutes before the shooting happened,” she said. “I was at the bottom of the stairs and had to run back to the office when someone said a gunman ran up and shot six times into the apartment through the window from the sidewalk.”
