Ahead of the 2018 Amputee World Cup which kicks off next week in Mexico, the Special Eagles had a terrible accident along Lokoja/Abuja expressway on their way to Abuja for visa appointment.
Goodluck Obieze, the captain of the team said: “We were on the way to Abuja for visa application when the ghastly motor accident along the Lokoja-Abuja expressway occurred. Although no life was lost, many of the players sustained minor injuries.”
According to Obieze, he and his colleagues were rescued by military personnel that mounted roadblocks and helped them out of the bush.
