The missing children, Chisom and Chidindu, are aged four and two.
It was gathered that Ifeoma, who is a family friend
of the Onyedikas, made away with the two children from their parents’ residence on October 8, 2018.
Her whereabouts has remained unknown since.
Mrs Onyedika, the mother of the missing children, explained that the said Ifeoma was with her kids when she went behind the house to urinate.
However, she could not see the ‘family friend’ and her children when she came back to the compound, The Punch gathered.
The mother said Ifeoma had earlier told her to get the children ready, so that she could take them to a church for prayers.
The woman said she refused to allow the lady to take her kids to the church.
She said it was shortly after she objected to the proposed prayers that Ifeoma made away with the two kids.
The mother said she was told by some neighbours that they saw Ifeoma moving out of the compound with the two children.
Ifeoma, who hails from Nsukka in Enugu State, reportedly lived with an unnamed boyfriend in the same neighbourhood with the Onyedikas.
The boyfriend was said to have left the area ‘suddenly’, just a day before Ifeoma disappeared with the Onyedikas’ children.
When residents of the area broke into the apartment where Ifeoma lived with her boyfriend, it was discovered that all the property had already been moved out.
Mrs Onyedika said initially, calls to Ifeoma’s mobile telephone line went through, but she did not answer.
But the line has since been switched off.
The grief-stricken mother said she and her husband reported the development to the police, adding that they had been visiting various prayer houses, all in a bid to have their missing children back.
When contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Enugu State Police Command, Mr Ebere Amaraizu, confirmed the development.
Amaraizu explained that the police were currently investigating the matter.
