Man Set Ablaze By Angry Mob For Stealing Car In Lagos

An alleged car thief was on Wednesday set ablaze by an angry mob after he had been beaten to a pulp. The incident took place at Isikalu Street Junction, Olodi-Apapa in Ajeromi/Ifelodun Local Government Area of Lagos State. Luck ran out on the young man when he was sighted by some residents while he was trying to steal the brain box of a parked vehicle in the area. According to an eye witness, the thief was nabbed around 4p.m and was thoroughly beaten and tied up until 6a.m when other residents woke up and met him at the scene.

Despite plea by some onlookers that the thief should be taken to the police station, the angry mob immediately put a tyre around him, poured petrol and set him on fire. Residents in the area complained that several vehicles had been vandalized in the recent past by the thief and his gang.

Too bad!
