SSS Rescue Super Eagles Player's Abducted Wife

Wife of Super Eagles midfielder, Fegor Ogude, who was kidnapped since last Monday night by gunmen in Warri, Delta state has been rescued by men of the State Security Service from her captors.

The development was confirmed by the Media Officer of the National Under-23 Team, Timi Ebikagboro, who disclosed it on his Twitter handle @ebikagboro.

Ebikagboro said: “To God be the glory, the wife of SE player Fegor Ogude, Memunat has been released, she was released minutes ago, and is now with her family.”

Sources allege that a ransom of N30m was demanded by the kidnappers but were unsure if any ransom was paid before her rescue.

Kogi state born Memunat was kidnapped at her residence at Okuorkorkor, near Warri in Okpe area of the state. Ogude, a member of the Super Eagles team that won the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations, plays in Russia with FK Amker Perm.

He has been granted compassionate leave to join his wife and family.
