A member of the National Youth Service Corps, Grace Oghene Edegware, who was abducted with two other women in Kwali area of the Federal Capital Territory by suspected Fulani herdsmen, has regained freedom.
Francis Edegware the corper’s father confirmed her release to THE PUNCH Saturday night.
Our correspondent could however not confirm if any ransom was paid, even though the kidnappers have earlier demanded N10 million for Grace’s release.
He said, “My dear journalist, I am pleased to inform you that I have secured the release of my daughter. I’m just from the bush, she was released about an hour ago. You can hear the noise of people who are jubilating. I appreciate your concern, I appreciate PUNCH for your assistance.”
Edegware, however said that the other women were still being held and were yet to be released
Our correspondent spoke with the kidnapped victim through her father’s telephone to confirm the release.
“It’s true Sir, I have just been released, I will give you more details”, she stated.
