The sad death of a 25-year-old lady, named Rose Luka, from abortion complications has thrown the sleeping twon of Bayan Gari, Bauchi into mourning, as the Sate police Command confirmed the arrest of four persons who allegedly killed her. The suspects, Hillary Joseph, male and 31 years, Nasiru Haruna male and 25 years, and Hamisu Yashi male and 30 years all of Bayan Gari Area of Bauchi State conspired and hurriedly buried Ms Rose Luka female and 25 years who died as a result of complications arising from an abortion that went horribly wrong.
According to Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Haruna Mohammed, “about 17:00hrs, following intelligence report, Police detectives attached to Tafawa Balewa housing Estate Division Bauchi arrested one Hillary Joseph male and 31 years, Nasiru Haruna male and 25 years, and Hamisu Yashi male and 30 years all of Bayan Gari Area of Bauchi State.
The PPRO stated that preliminary investigation revealed that, the victim allegedly died as a result of complications from abortion adding that the scene of Crime was visited by Forensic experts attached to Criminal investigation department and corpse of late Rose exhumed. He said her photograph was taken to ATBU Teaching hospital Bauchi for Autopsy. DSP Mohammed explained that the quack patent medicine seller one Mudasshiru Bako male and 30 years of the same address, who administered and sold the abortion drugs to the victim was also arrested.
He said Exhibits recovered include, two Shovels, one Sachet of Diclofene tablets, one sachet of menbendezalen with four tablets, Daltic five tablets, Predimisolene eight tablets and, Bunto blood tonic and, a bottled water mixed with substance suspected to be drugs.
All the four Suspects have been charged to Chief Magistrate Court One, Bauchi on the 12/11/2015 for prosecution.
