A North Carolina man, Douglas Joseph Hagler was sentenced to 100 days in jail after stabbing his dog repeatedly with a samurai sword when it bit his roommate. Hagler's lawyer said that his client is an alcoholic who does not remember that he tied the Siberian husky named Koda to a tree and gave it 11 stab wounds and broken ribs. A judge in Raleigh also ordered Hagler to substance abuse treatment, five years of probation including two with an alcohol monitor and to stay away from dogs, Mail Online reports.
Residents who called 911 after, said that Hagler was wielding an up to three-foot sword with a studded handle. The canine owner was allegedly saying, 'the dog's a killer' and Koda was heard yelping during the 911 call.
