Several conflicting reports and speculations have trailed the return of the Super Eagles to Nigeria without their Coach, Sunday Oliseh.
The Super eagles returned to Nigeria without coach Sunday Oliseh after their performance at the African Nations Championship in Rwanda, and he is reported to have returned to Belgium.
The Nigeria Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) claims that he departed Rwanda for Belgium to continue with treatment for the flu which he has been battling with since last year
However, Daily Sunsport have revealed that a source close to Sunday Oliseh confessed that he is afraid for his life.
According to Daily Sunsport, it was alleged that some people are after his life in Nigeria and is beginning to think twice about his health.
“Oliseh no longer feels safe being in Nigeria. Recall that all through the team’s camping for CHAN 2016 in Abuja, he refused to show up but was the first to hit South Africa for the second phase of camping in Pretoria.
“After his team lost out of CHAN, he left for Belgium on the excuse that he had to go and continue treatment for his flu. That action speaks volumes about his fears.”
However, in a swift reaction, NFF media officer, Ademola Olajire stated that it is all rumour.
“Did Oliseh not grow up here in Nigeria, so why would he be afraid of anyone in Nigeria? Agreed that Nigerians are very passionate about football and would castigate any coach that does not produce results but that is not enough for anyone to insinuate that his life is in danger
The reason for his travelling back to Belgium is to continue with his treatment for the flu,” Olajire stated.
