Trust students to be bold and OAU students are exceptionally bold, lol. So today, the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed was at Obafemi Awolowo University where he went to deliver a lecture titled ‘Nexus between corruption and underdevelopment of Nigeria’ at the Faculty of Arts and students bombarded him saying, ‘Tell Buhari to probe our VC, Tell Buhari to probe our VC’. As if that was not enough, one of the students who were allowed to ask Mr Mohammed a question, boldly stood up and said;
“Our halls of residence are in bad shape and my colleagues are saying probe Omole (VC) and so on. It is not only at the national level that the government should concentrate its fight against corruption, it should come to universities and we welcome President Buhari’s war against corruption on OAU campus,” as the entire students present screamed and applauded him.
Meanwhile the minister promised to meet with the VC to discuss the issue of students’ union leaders who are currently under suspension. This just makes you miss school days.... Another photo below...
