Wonderful!!! 43 Nigerian Students Make History At Howard University Convocation With Obama In Attendance

History was made yesterday at Howard University 148th Commencement convocation in Washington D.C. Out of 96 graduating Doctor of Pharmacy candidates, 43 were Nigerians. Out of 27 awards given, 16 went to Nigerians. President Barack Obama was awarded a honorary Doctor of Science degree.

Delivering the keynote speech at Howard University’s commencement ceremony, President Obama found himself lecturing the young African American graduates on the lessons he had learned of how to create change in their communities.

Obama closed out his lecture on “change” by evoking another one of his signature campaign slogans, reminding students, “Yes we can.”
