IMAGINE! Court Jails Top Civil Servant To 6 Months In Prison for Stealing N109m

But why is the Nigerian judiciary trying to make Nigerians to get angry? Or do they want the masses to start hitting the looters with jungle justice whenever they are seen or caught in public places?

How can you sentence a man to JUST 6 MONTHS in prison for stealing N109million? How can?

As you read this, a High Court of the Federal Capital Territory in Maitama, Abuja, has sentenced the former accountant of the Federal Civil Service Commission,‎ Babatunde Abisuga, to six months imprisonment for offences bordering on stealing N109m pension fund.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission’s Head of Media and Publicity, Mr Wilson Uwujaren, in a statement said Abisuga was convicted on all the five counts of stealing, abuse of office and forgery preferred against him.

According to the statement, the judge gave three months imprisonment on Counts 1 and 2 and to six months imprisonment on Counts 5, 6 and 7. The sentences are to run concurrently. What a judiciary!
