The presiding officer, Alhaji Umar Kagarko, remanded the defendant in police custody, and adjourned the case till July 25 for commencement of his trial.
The wife, Blessing Akarayere, had told the court that her husband Uzogora r*ped their 11yrs old daughter, Uzogora, who resides in Kabusa village in Apo area of Abuja.
The husband pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Otu said the complainant told the police that she left the victim in the care of her husband when she travelled to her village in December 2015 to write an examination. He added that the defendant allegedly had s*xual inter-course with the minor without her consent and threatened to kill her if she tells anyone.
