10-year-old primary 6 pupil, Musa Salisu, who was abducted by suspected kidnappers on Monday June 6th in Kano state, has been found dead. Musa was kidnapped by unknown persons while going on an errand for his parents at Na’ibawa quarters in Kano. Speaking on the incident, the deceased boy's uncle, Abdulrashid Garba, who is also the Village Head of Na’ibawa, said the kidnappers demanded for a N500, 000 ransom.
“Two hours after Musa was kidnapped, one of the kidnappers called his father’s GSM line and informed him that the boy was with them. They demanded a ransom of N500, 000 and warned the family not to involve police in the matter. I am suspecting that the kidnappers got the information that the matter was reported to the police and that is why they killed the boy. It was unfortunate that the innocent boy was killed by the heartless kidnappers.”
Garba said the family got to know about the unfortunate murder of the little boy around 6am yesterday when some people came to his house to inform him about the discovery of a corpse at Kano Eastern-Bypass. “When I went to the scene, I discovered that it was Daddy that was killed and dumped there. I quickly informed the police about the development,” he said.
The Kano State Police command confirmed the incident and said investigations were ongoing. Two persons have already been arrested in connection with the kidnap and murder.
