The man, a 20-year old was found murdered and some of his body parts chopped, at Iyabe sub-county in Kisii county, Kenya. The man identified as Japheth Mokora was found lying motionless in a footpath leading to his home with his tongue and private parts chopped off.


According to Tuko, the body of the deceased was found by one John Mariga who let out a loud scream that attracted the villagers. Mariga said that in the morning on his way to work he found the deceased lying across the footpath necked, with his private parts and tongue chopped off and severe head injuries.

“I screamed loudly to alert the villagers of what had happened, we identified the deceased as Japheth Mokora,” Mariga said. The deceased’s mother narrated that she heard her son open the door at around 5 a.m and was not alarmed since it was already dawn. She said her son was in deep depression in the days before but she did not know what was bothering him. On that fateful night, he did not take his supper saying that he was feeling unwell. Kisii South OCPD David Mbulukwa said crime rates have gone high in the area in the recent past and promised to do everything possible to bring the perpetrators to book. He cited another incident where a woman allegedly threw her child into the nearby river to go to Nairobi to become a househelp. He urged the public to report such incidences to police. Area Chief Benson Machuka said the incident is the first of its kind in the area for a long time. Machuka condemned the incident and urged the public to report any disagreements to the relevant authorities instead of resorting to settle scores through killings.
